Hello Slowhands....
In reply to your recent post about God.... I must tell you something. You crack me up! You come along and with a straight face (I'm sure) and tell people that you think that God is irrelevant. It takes a lot of guts to say something like that.
Considering you were a Math teacher and are probably a man (if I am mistaken may God please forgive me) your mind runs on a different track than the majority.
Here is my take .... You may voice your opinion, you may stand and say that God is irrelevant. Even in Minnesota people have the right to speak freely no matter how cold thery are. However today I wish to differ. There is a God, and He is irrelevant. He lives deep within my faulty heart and all around me.
Today I will honor your right to speak and I know you will honor mine. It's basic Math........ It's 50-50.... Then again..... It could be a bit lopsided because I know I have God on my side...... He loves you too! ;-)

i definetely agree. no he did not say there is no god. lol he said god is irrelevant. each one of are special in someway for sure including slowhands. i was just pointing out that i believe there is a god and i gave an example. i have others i have experienced but i am not ready to share them. i do believe god works through others by giving them the gift e.g. the gift of inventing the pacemaker. science it is but can't it also be god working thru scientists? lol lol to each there own i respect that everyone has their own beliefs and are entitled to this. i just did not like the sarcasm in the initial post jessie

Now Jessie...
slowhands did not say there was no God. He said that, and I quote, "god is irrelevant" that is what he said.
I was just having a bit of fun with a serious matter. I do hope all will forgive me and view it in the lightness it was intended. Except for the part about God being here in my faulty heart and in my world. God is relevant. That part was/is serious.
And yes, even Very Cold People have a voice and rights too. hee hee No matter how cold they are.
I just couldn't not add my voice to the mix. We are each one special in someway... each one unique including slowhands.
God bless, pacergirl
Encourage one another

I, too, wanted to say something about this because I was really bothered by the comment that prayer is a myth and God is irrelevant. Granted...we all have our beliefs and opinions. Fine. But all of us who believe in God on this site and mention God in our posts to others do so in order to be encouraging. Regardless of what the original poster personally believes, we say what we believe in response to posts in order to be encouraging. I feel slowhands offered his/her personal view in a way that was not encouraging to others but just to try and tear others down. That's fine if you don't believe in God or prayer or what have you but make your posts encouraging. Otherwise, what's the point? We could debate our beliefs until we are all blue in the face and it wouldn't matter...wars are fought over religion and they still don't solve anything.
God IS relevant. As it has been said before, He is the Ultimate Physician. I'm sure glad about that! I send a card to my EP every year at Christmas/New Year's time to thank him for helping save my life and for giving me the gift of time and another year. I don't hesitate to share with him either how God has used him to help me have more time. I also tell my EP each time that I pray that GOD continues to bless him with the knowldge and skill to bless others like he has me. God has a plan for all of us and gifts us all with talents that suit His plan for us. And God gifts the medical industry, too.
Thanks for starting this post, pacergirl.
Pace in grace and be blessed!

maybe he has a different god that is irrelevant, sorry i couldn't help but add that, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. but i just want everyone to know that my God is revelent and it has been proven many times. if it wasn't for Him i would not be here today. it is still a mystery to my drs how i have lasted this long. :) no mystery to me though.
love to all my pacer friends

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.

susan you crack me up! even in minnesota people have the right to speak freely no matter how cold. this just cracks me up. our daughter is from alberta and somehow this struck me funny. . so yes it is 50/50 if i am wrong a lot of people are wrong with me. my daughter feels her grandparents presence many years later many times when she is stressed out there with no family support. she feels their presence. she was very close to them growing up. now you tell me that there is no god? i believe i will have life everlasting and when i die i will not die but will live forever in his kingdom. so take care everyone. love, jessie
