Had my third ablation

Hello everyone, I had my third Ablation done on monday jan 5th and has you may have read from my previous message i used to have tachycardia so bad that it triggered every single time i stood up. I do have a pacemaker that is set at 70bpm. And the opposite has happened now, When i stand up my heart rate stays at 70 and when i sit down it goes up to maybe 95-100. Is this normal?? Also i have been having very short episodes of tachycardia, Could this be cause my heart is healing still? Does anyone know how long it takes for the heart to heal completley from an ablation? I am still taking my 50mg of atnelol 2 times a day. thanks for any help.

Hi Lisa29, I had 5 ablations and doctors told me that it takes about 6 weeks - the healing from each ablation. Take care! Misa

Healing

Hello Lisa,

I have had 4 ablations in the last 8 months. Each time my doctors said that it would take at least 6-12 weeks for the heart to heal completely. I had to have multiple ablations, but they always made me wait at least 8 weeks between to see if my heart would improve any. They warned me that it might sometimes feel that the tachy has returned, but often it is just the heart trying to complete the old circuit that was ablated and no longer exists.
It could very well be that your pacemaker just needs to be fine tuned some more. I have had mine for over a year, but after my last ablation, I am going to need some more adjustments.
Listen to your body and don't over do it. Keep track of your symptoms and report anything concerning to your doctor. Try and be optimistic...it takes time to heal. Hopefully this is your last ablation!

Take care.
Amanda

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
