Intimacy...

Has anyone ever felt a major SOB upon "getting busy"? I did this weekend and it gave me a scare. I mean, its not like I can check out my pulse rate in the middle of things.

I actually had to say..."I can't breathe very well" to my husband. Sorta kills the mood.

Hey...I don't know whether I should have posted this in "exercise & sports"...just seemed most applicable. LOL! My stamina upon exertion has really sucked since my implant in January of this year. I would really like to see it get better. I am becoming more active (walking, cycling, etc.) but still the spikes with the heart rate.

Gotta go now...getting busy here at work...

if you're doing it right,it's both exercise and sport LOL

Ok, serious answer. It sounds like your settings need adjusted. Describe it to the dr as "sob on exertion", no need to get into details of what kind of exertion it was. Go take a brisk walk and see if the same thing happens. They often give us an upper limit that isn't high enough. Or if you're using rate response, it may be too sensitive. Either way, it's probably a setting and an easy fix.

Hey Renee14150, Just a hint. Did you ever try just helping yourself? Worked for me and I didn't need to do that but once.

Should you really be "getting busy" at work? lol Anyhow, I would think that the longer the condition existed before the implant the longer it will take to recover to where you don't experience the SOB during intimacy. My understanding is that once you heal up completely, it is just a matter of being in shape for it like it was before. I am new to this myself, so I may be wrong, but I believe that is correct.
