If you have a CRT-P device of Medtronic/st jude/ Biotronik , please tell me the warranty period of your device. Because my father's cardiologist suggested a Mdetronic CRT-P device with only 5 years warranty. Coronavirus and heart patients with especially CRT-D and P

In short, have a CTR-D due to low EF(below 30)

What are your thoughts on people like me that have serious heart diseases as it is stated many times that the death rate is considerably high with elderly, and people with heart issues and diabities?

Most of the people like me have also some issues with kidney and lungs as well due to the nature of our heart problems and/or medicine we need to take

I personally believe, if half of what we read is tr...

CDC Recommends staying home

So, the US CDC is recommending that high risk adults- over 60 with chronic health conditions stay home as much as possible and avoid crowds.

Depending on age, and the heart condition you have, that may be many of us.

My AFIB & PM probaby doesn't count, but for those with heart failure and/or other serious chronic conditions, are you staying home?

BTW, I've found it's almost impossible not to touch your face!

Pacemaker Implantation

I'm having my first pacemaker inplanted in the near future.  I am "freaked out" about them covering my face.  It seems everything I have read says you are awake during this surgery and given local anesthetic.  However, when I spoke to the cardiologist she said you won't remember anything.  Does that mean they will be giving me "general anesthesia?

So two questions:

Am I awake when they put this drape or covering over my face?...

Anyone have an abdominal pacemaker?

I was born with a heart defect that resulted in me being implanted with a pacemaker at 18months of age. I'm now thirty and my leads require much higher voltage to pace than when I was implanted with my device. I'm using pacemakers rather rapidly, and approaching my fifth pacemaker change. I started having complications and pain in my shoulder area, so in 2015 I had an extra set of leads implanted in the abdominal area, incase my leads broke after being repositioned. (These are on the...

Alcohol

Hi everyone,

I have just gotten my pacemaker implanted 2 days ago. I am only 20 years old. Being so young I still would like to be able to get out and have a drink with my friends but I am wondering if that is possible now that I have a pacemaker? When could you start drinking again and how much was it okay to drink? Did drinking affect your pacemaker and how?

Exercise and fast HR

Hello

I am 25 years old, and I've had my icd for about 4 years. All was well, except lately I've had some palpitations after I workout. After exercise my heart rate dips into 90s but then all it starts racing in 140s. Of course I'm going to call my cardiologists office, but before I do has anyone experienced anything similar? Thank you

Sinus Node Ablation?

Has anyone here had either a Sinus Node Ablation or Sinus Node modification done?

If so i'd be interested to know if you had any benefit from it... and were you able to stop or reduce antiarrythmic drugs afterwards?

My Dr has suggested it to me once again... just not sure about it.
