Does just having a pacemaker put us in a high risk group if we contract coronavirus? I was wondering if having leads going into our hearts makes us high risk for complcations of the virus?

Ok a quick run down have (Tachycardia brachycardia) was given a PM and also take verapamil, took a few tweaks for PM setting and is good for the most part, I recently has a little bit of anxiety so my heart was already kinda racyish so I started to work out, felt good for the most part, also my upper limit is 175bpm I think but never really get that high, low is 60bpm, Any ways I was running and noticed it was racing really fast then I slowed down a bit and it was racing faster...

I am having PM put in next week for bradycardia. My heart rate has been in the 40s for many decades. My concern is this, when my heart beats at a more normal higher range, will it feel like anxiety? I have struggled in the past with anxiety and am fearful of experiencing it again. Thanks all.

It has been just 8 weeks since PM surgery. I have healed well except for the usual discomfort of adjusting to battery in my chest, especially at night as a side sleeper. Surgeon did a great job as I usually heal super slow, and this has required nothing more than Tylenol and scar looks good. ( I am a sensitive female and compared to my husband's PM scar...mine looks great😏. )
Now the not so good. I was tachy-brady and having increased issues. The PM was to al...

I had to get a pacemaker about this time last year (2/2019) because of bradycardia and my heart random pausing.
The pacemaker is a miracle for me. My heartbeat was getting worse week-by-week. I feel so much better now. I would likely be dead now without the pacemakers.
(I struggled with this for years. Going to doctors telling them I would have a sensation like my circulation was blocked briefly. They would look at me like I had 2-heads and have...

I happily had my pacemaker fitted under a local anaesthetic but show me a dentist's chair and I quiver like a jelly. I am a wuss.
My dentist recently declined to give me intravenous (IV) sedation because of my pacemaker; he said I would need hospital treatment for a simple filling.
At my request, my consultant has now given me a letter to say I have a *dual chamber* pacemaker NOT a cardioverter defibrillator. He has no objection to my dentist giving me int...

Hi all, over the past week or so, I've had an extra-strong pulse above (ie, higher than) my pacemaker. It's been the regulation 60bpm, lasts for about 10 seconds then stops -- you literally cannot feel anything -- though of course my heartbeat carries on.
Apart from the annoyance and puzzlement there are no other effects. It's not painful, merely startling. I haven't even felt the need to bother my doctor.
Putting two and two together and possibly making...

My pacemaker was done in Dec. 2019, then after having a lot of palpatations, the leads were changed two weeks later. I'm still feeling the palpatations, but to a less degree, and I'm on Eliquis. Just today, Feb. 26, I saw a small hard bump above my pacemaker! This really concerns me! Anyone else experienced this, and if so, is it serious? I will also be calling my Dr. concerning this also.

I'm 1 year post dual chamber pacemaker. This week my blood pressure became very low 99/54. Called family doc since an hmo and asked what to do. She says stop my telimisartan no med. Have no symptoms. Seeing doc next week for physical and keeping journal of readings. Also had sinus infection and given steroid injection. Other than this, there have been no problems. I'm going to have her refer me to my EP to check my pacemaker out. Anyone out there have this happen with low BP.

I had an ablation for atrial tachyicardias last week, including aflutter. My arrhythmias had emerged since about October, including ventricular arrhythmias that were being 'paced out' by the ICD. Meds had little effect. Over 110 areas ablated over 7 hours, and about 24 hours in the hospital. I am feeling stronger over the last couple of days. I had a cardiac arrest/4 shocks from my ICD including asystole in mid December, and unfortunately, no ventricular arrhythmias e...

Hi, all. Another newbie here. I'm 5 1/2 weeks out from PM implantation. My symptoms came on suddenly about a month and a half earlier: exhaustion upon strenuous exercise, and later, episodes of lightheadedness that began increasing in frequency and severity.
I had consulted my primary care doc, taken a stress test, and had an appointment with a cardiologist pending. My heart, though, had other ideas, and while I was on vacation I fainted dead away. Fortunately, this incident occurre...

Hello I was just wondering if anyone with a pacemaker/defibrillator has been on any of the newer trackless rides at any of the Disney parks. I'm going to Tokyo Disney and Tokyo Sea in June and want to get an idea what is ok to go on.
Thank you in advance! ♥

Background: I had a St. Jude Medical pacemaker implanted in December 2019 for bradycardia and vasovagal syncope.
For the past few days, I have been experiencing chest pain around my upper left pectoral muscle area. I realized that I have a Merlin heart monitor that wirelessly communicates with my pacemaker so I called the device clinic at my doctors office and asked them to check my heart transmissions. They told me that there were no readings to be concerned about and it...

Hello all! I've been diagnosed with Bradychardia and after a syncopal episode, it has been determined I am going to require a pacemaker relatively soon. My resting heart rate is 45 BPM but was 54 BPM only six months ago! I'm only 33 and the ability to have MRIs in my lifetime is very appealing.
Anyway, I am very interested in the Micra leadless pacemaker. I'm not sure if it is covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield and I'm having a hard time finding any real answers. Anybody...

Hello, my husband Thomas, recently (Nov. 7th 2019) who just turned 50, had pacemaker installed. At not quite 4 months after surgery, he has been feeling the sensation of a "stinging pain" under skin near scar. This seems to be random, not from any movement. It happens several times a day. I would think that after 4 months the implant area has healed?
Has this happened to anyone else? (It's our 1st post, just found this group in his pacemaker manual, TH...

Hello to all. I've only had"internal", if you will, heart-related questions about my PM and me, installed January 2019. Happenings like PVCs, atril fib (what are those, why, why, why are they happening suddenly to me when I have a computer running things in my heart, etc.)--the usual questions no handbook you ever received addressed!
All that's going ok, no real active issues. My question now is about twinges/pulls that have started recently in the area where the...

I've been in a hosp for 9 days passing Kidney stones. Don't get them. I passed a quarry full of stones. Spent another 9 days recovering from 7 litres of water used to flush the suckers out. Yesterday found out that on the 10th day my PM went into EOL Replacement next Tuesday.
Life is beautiful!

I am 51 years old no cholestrol, diabetes, i do work out. But for couple of years we have notice right bundle branch during ECG. Out of breadth has been pretty normal for me. The doctors have not been concerned about this and always mentioned if it is not new then no need to worry. Last weekend i was pretty busy entire weekend, doing lot of physical work. Two days later morning i was feeling very dizzy, i checked my pulse it was very low. My wife drove me to my family physician an...
