My son is 21 he has had a pacemaker since age two. We let him live a pretty much normal life. No contact sports, But he has a brown belt in karate, Also played played baseball since age 5. Now at age 21 his softball team is ranked second in Indiana NSA. Also he works full time as a asst manager at a local store and goes to college full time and is on the Deans List. Hello All,
Did any of you receive an email in your private message box from a peddler selling a product named Angioprim? Or, did I just get lucky? LOL This ticks me off big time. How dare he/she use this PM club as a means to reach people with cardiac disease! That said, sorry if I offended anyone and I hope this isn't someone Blake okayed to advertise! LOL.

I read so many postings of details of that person's heart and pacemaker and leads and percentages and beats per minute.
I know nothing about this, other than two leads.
Either my cardiologist does not tell me so much or I will learn these things as I have any needed tests done.
I had my PM in on Feb. 14th. Yesterday I was in bed all day from fatigue and short winded. I will be getting a holter monitor on Monday to see if there is something wrong, perhaps that is how I find out...

Anyone can join this site as a member. You do not have to provide proof that you are a pacemaker patient. You do not have to provide proof that you have been honest about your age or gender or anything else for that matter. That is why sites like this which do a great deal of good are vulnerable to those who are less than honest and just want to take someone for a ride. You may have noticed that someone is asking for money on this site to pay for a different pacemaker. The person may or may not...

my questions is this. according to the doctors my heart is in athletic shape, physically i am in better shape than 20 years ago.
i am 44 male always athletic. when i ask the cardiologist she thinks the heart problem is a symptom of something else. my heart rate will just drop to nothing all the while it is irregular pattern. i feel it has something to do with my bowel movements (sorry) but i still not sure what the trigger is and why. does anyone else have the reason why they have a pacemak...

Hello all,my PM is now two months old,I am surprised at how prominent it seems. The site is just below the left collarbone and I would think any swelling after implantation is now long gone. I am,I suppose, rather spare in build so maybe there is not much to bury the device in! Has anybody else felt the PM seems to be just below the skin? I think the ladies may have the advantage here as there may be a bit more to tuck the PM into.:-) My neighbour has a PM but hers is nothing like as prominent.Cer...

Hello everyone,
I am now on day 61 since receiving my pacemaker. My arm is much better and I can move and lift it over my head now. I can finally sleep fairly well at night and have "graduated" from sleeping only on my back. Trying to sleep on my left side is still not very comfy.
I have had some difficulty adjusting to this pacemaker at many levels... but the main thing is how I generally feel. Now that the incision is much better, I am sleeping better, the rest has...

Hi Smitty... (or any one else who might know!) Had my pm checkup yesterday and concerned. I have AV node ablation with 99.7% pacing and in afib all the time (single lead) hearblock and on coumadin for life (until yesterday) My pm showed that since Oct 15, I had Ventricular High Rate episodes 3 times ..first 213 then 226. The odd thing is that they happened during the time of day that I would be resting. I don't remember any feeling of dizziness, but concerned because now my cardiologist said i...

hello been a while since i have been on,i moved back to california from colorado doing prety well i just got approved for soc sec disability after 3 years so thats good.my question is about using magnetic bracelets for severe arthritis in may hands, just had a pm check today and the tech said it would be ok as long as you don't hold it directly on the pacemaker and not wear at night so i bought 2 of them and right on the package it says don't use if you have a pacemaker or difib.was wondering if...

Hi cathryn, Yes remodelling is a term sometimes used by doctors. Bearing in mind I still have permanent AF etc my heart has jumped through a hoop and performed a miracle. This was not expected by the doctors. They are dumfounded by my incredible almost unheard of recovery under the circumstances. They are shocked at how well I look. I do help myself though, ive never smoked only have a drink once a week and get a good nights rest and eat well. I tell the doctors I feel 15 years younger but actua...

Its just over 365 days since I left hospital after a AV node ablation and a bi-phase resynchronising guidant pacemaker fitted. Only 2 leads were fitted as I have permanent Atrial Fibrillation which adding the third lead could not help.(this approach surprised the makers of my pacemaker who were taken aback when I told them the third lead was not fitted).Instead my ventricles only are beating in synchrony between 70 and 120 beats per minute. The decision as to whether or not to have the AV node a...

Hey, it's me again, here are the other jokes I promised...
An accountant was having trouble sleeping, so he tried counting sheep. But he made a mistake and it took him all night to find it.
A man was pulled over and the police officer says,"Sir, I need you to breath into this breathalyzer for me." The guy says, "Sorry officer, but I am an asthmetic and if I do that I'll have a really big asthma attack." "OK, then I need you to come down to the station for a blood test, just...

Hi All: I'm a Newbie here! I am planning my 1st vacation since inplant (Nov 2007). A friend and I are going to Disney Orlando and was wondering what restrictions, if any, I will have? I have a pacemaker for "on demand" purposes only. Has never gone off since it was done. I am 43 years old, female and not really big on coaster rides, but I do love the water coasters and the "small world" type rides. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
