Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I was last on, so I wanted to write quickly.
I am not yet getting care for my SVC syndrome, but that may change soon. I am finally expecting to take a trip out of state for care on Sept. 21st. At the medical center I am headed to I am going past the EP and straight to a vascular surgeon to talk about my options. One of the nurses I've spoke to who set me up was surprised that a venogram had not yet been done.
As for my thyroid, due...

Hello all you good people.
Maureen e-mailed me, and asked that I post an update on her husband's condition.
John had by-pass surgery yesterday, and is still in critical care, because he has a low blood pressure. If he does better tomorrow, they will move him to a room.
They had him sitting up, and dangling his legs, over the side of the bed already.
She says that he looks good, but he is in a lot of pain, and they were giving him Tylenol, which wasn't helping.
They...

WELL I WENT IN AND GOT MY STRESS TEST AND OF COURSE MY HEART RATE WAS DOING GOOD BELIEVE IT AND I SHOULD BE THANK FULL BUT, HE STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. HE SAID I AM GOING TO JUST WATCH YOU AND SAID THAT HE THINKS THAT MY BP MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT NOW! GO FIGURE SOMETHING ELSE. SO KNOW I HAVE TO MONITOR THE BP AND PULSE FOR THE NEXT MONTH TILL I GO IN AND GET MY HOLTER. SO HE CAN CHECK . SO I CHECK MY BP AND PULSE JUST A LITTLE WHILE AGO AND IT WAS 106/64 PULSE 47 WHICH IS WHAT...

Hi everyone!
I am new here...and looking for some answers.
My AV-node was ablated about 5 years ago. I have a dual pacemaker and I am totally dependent.
I heard about some kind a new pacemaker with 3-leads. The third one is there as a backup in case of malfunction.
If anyone have any information about that I would appreciate that very much.
Believe me it is not easy to live that way. Knowing that if anything goes wrong with that pacer that will be the end of my live. S...

I continue to learn about life with a pacer. I am 5 weeks post op and pretty much all things have returned to normal. The only thing that still bothers me is my left arm. It still has a little pain form the shoulder jount down and there is still a numb spot of about a 3 inch circle on my upper arm on the outside. Hopefully this will go away.
I has a stress test yesterday and learned that I can not have a tread mill test with a pacer as it shows too many false positives. So, I had...

How much pace can a pacemaker pace if a pacer cant be paced?
Say that 3 times fast. You know you will eventually, lol
Its interesting the thoughts that can go through ones mind when trying to past time
or is that just me?
Anyway, just an update: Im scheduled for an emergency surgery today at 4:30pm, but check in is at 2:30. Well, for a quick recap: Ive been having pretty bad pain coming from my right ovary and they didnt really know what was wrong until now. They did s...

I was reading the message from Michele and her bypass surgery. I to had lap band surgery in Nov. 2006. In April of this year I passed out and was taken to the hospital. I was told that I needed a pacemaker, I was so scared. I had never been told that my heart rate was slow. I think I have been lucky, everytime I go for my check up the dr. says I'm doing great. At first they thought that the surgery had something to do with it. I have never had snyone tell me a straight answer yet about it.

Hi everyone!
Yes it's Laura (aka sweettartgirl)...I saw the message from stillshocked asking where I was and so just wanted to give a little update. Sorry I don't post much anymore. I am super busy lately, and as with a lot of pacemaker reciepients after the first year or two it becomes normal as to where there's not as much need for the constant support as at first. I'm three years out now and it's great and I barely ever think of my pacemaker anymore and it hasn't caused me any problems!<...

Hello, Well I have lots of ? and have gotten no answers. May be someone can help out with this. My cardo has no clue on what to think about my condition right now. He said he has not had a patient like me. He thought it may be linked to my gastric bypass but can't find anything. but he has ran all the test he knows to run and everything is fine. I am getting a stress test done and he said depending on that out come what he is going to do. but he has said the only thing to do is a pacemker but h...

Had my interrogation today. Got the same info that I was given one week after the Pace Maker was inplanted...complete heart block gone and pacing less than 1% of the time since inplantation., which was on July 18th. I just don't understand this. Of course, I am delighted that I don't have complete heart block but I am confused. The tech asked me if I was tested for Lyme disease while in the hospital. I have no idea. He also told the nurse that the EP told him that my Rhythm would not return...

Last week I was implanted with a biventricular pacemaker/defibrillator. I understand it is supposed to resynchronize my heart beat - as I have a lower left bundle branch blockage. (Among other problems) My primary symptom was shortness of breath with frequent fatigue. - and I have had episodes of V-tach captured on a holter monitor (hence the defibrillator I am assuming....) My question is this: If the pacer is synchronizing my heart beat, is it always working? Does this wear down the ba...

I am going into the 5th week of recovery from my 3rd PM implant. Had a checkup today and the tech hooked me up and didn't change any settings and said I was fine. Now mind you, I have not seen my doc in about 3 years - just techs and nurses. Another surgeon did the surgery due to the location of my pm (under the left breast).
I'm 31, had a pm since 18. Like I said before, this was my 3rd surgery and I should be a pro, but I got no instructions regarding activities this time. It...

I hope your all in great spirits and your heart continue to beat with grace. I miss all of you and I hope to have a computer soon.
I've been keeping up with my running and I have lost about 25 pounds and I look and feel great. I have not forgotten my awesome family here at the pacemakerclub. You've all been here for me at my worst and confusing times. I love you all for what you've given me. I'm hoping you all have a great life. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Hi
This is my first post. Hope someone can answer this question.
My hobby is building classic cars. Much welding involved. Had a pacemaker installed in July 2007. Of course my doctor says no welding. Anyone out there have the same problem and what have you done?
