Blood pressure after setting change

Hi everyone, New to the group . I had my PM Implant November 4, emergency room visit. I had  no symptoms other than feeling like I was gonna pass out three times earlier in the evening. I was told I  have  intermediate AV node block stage two blockage 2 to 2 1/2.
I’ve had my settings changed twice once on my two week check up when they remove my staples, because I told the doctor I was feeling weak and tired, and the second time this past Friday because I keep &...

billing

so i am wondering if anyone else is paying more for their remote interrogations than what they may pay as their copay for an in office/clinic visit. my remotes are every 90 days and i am being billed by the hospital and the physician each time but  when i go into the office/clinic for my annual visits i  just pay my flat copay. it seems that it should be the same amount because it is the same thing, just one is face to face. i am paying more for the hospitals convenience of not havi...

What exactly does the doctor do when he/she interrogates my PM

I've had a PM for 5 years now. I also have a medical background. All this time I thought I understood what was going on when they interrogated my PM but, apparently, I don't.

I have an excellent cardiologist. He's 77 years old but he can still keep up with the best of the 40 year olds. They stand in awe at his skills---EXCEPT! He dabbles at technology but he hates it and he isn't as sharp at it as he probably could be. I'm not seeking advice about my cardiologist. Fo...

Pacemaker checkups

How often do all of you get pacemaker checkups, I am supposed to go every 6 months, which I have.  However, I do go to a teaching hospital and the checkup I got last year changed the way i felt, I started getting more AF and going back into NSR my heartrate stayed right at 80 bpm for hours and hours which made me unconfortable until I finally went back into my normal rhythm in the 60s.  This went on whenever I got an episode of AF which i got more of last winter until i co...

MYCARELINK PATIENT MONITOR

Hello, I was given a MYCARELINK PATIENT MONITOR at my 6 week post op appointment. 2 weeks later I haven't plugged it in yet. The reason being I have a young toddler who would tamper with the device with it being on my bedside table. Looking to buy a small shelf to have it up higher on the wall.

Does anyone know if the monitor can be in a covered shelf? Or placed inside the bedside table as long as it remains plugged in?

Pacemaker Self Test

Last night I experienced what felt like palpitations for about 30 seconds.  Today, just so happened, I had a follow-up appointment with my cardiologist to check how well the PM is functioning.  Technition informed me that what I experienced was a PM self-test.  I neglected to ask the tech how often and/or when this is scheduled to occur.  Does anyone out there know the answer?

first post op check up - 6 weeks

Hi Everyone;

Just back from my first check up (6 weeks post op).

I've felt pretty good but have had four 'mini' faints since the implantation of the PM (dual chamber). 'Mini' because although each episode followed the same pattern as before, I didn't pass out completely. I knew I needed to remain down on the ground/bed and after five minutes or so got up and carried on with what I was doing before. This along with several instances in bed when it felt like...

My doctor refused to replace my pacemaker

Hello

Im 81 years old and have now had 2 pacemakers.  The first one implanted 14 years ago and 7 years ago it was replaced.

I had a checkup recently and was told that my pacemaker is working 100% of the time.  My doctor said he did not want to replace my pacemaker because he said I would then have trouble breathing.

I'm most worried about the battery dying.  Why isnt he?

Has anyone else been told this?

Feeling lower chamber pacing

Hello all,

I am on my second PM, a dual chamber MRI-compatible.  Recently, I was interrogated after complaints of suddenly feeling my PM go off.  Thought it might be connected to inproper settings after an MRI scan.  Was told this was not the case.  The feeling was duplicated when made to pace in the lower chamber.  Apparently, I only do this about 1% of the time.  Did not get a good answer as to why I suddenly need pacing in lower chamber.  Am 40% dep...

I don!t know how to directly respond to posts?

I am happy to hear that it is working for you!

I am doing well. I have been seeing a physical therapist and before my pacer was implanted she tested me on various exercise tolerance tests and then she retested me post pacer and  my improvement was measured as statistically significant X 1 or 2 in all areas.

just on a day to day basis I am doing so much better...no dizziness, no black outs no falling

Medtronic at night

The directions say to leave the device plugged in near your bed.  I do not like the light that it emits and don't want to cover it. I was told that the device could then receive automatic updates.  Why not just plug it in once a month or so?  My device is only a manual send and does not take automatic measurements.  Why then does it need to be on all the time in the bedroom?

Today was my first at home send.  The device recorded the informati...

Min BPM pacemaker

Hello all

Finally decided to join this interesting forum after reading it for a while now.

I have something I do not understand and do not know what is wrong with my pacemaker Medtronic: has minimum BPM set to 55. However there are times mostly during the night that my Garmin Forerunner 35 detects minimum of 49- 50 BPM. Even a recent Holter study detected it. The sensibility setting was increased to 0.90 I guess but it still happens.

Before I knew this is happening I was tot...

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
