Good morning all, I have a pacemaker since mid July 2019 and I have only one concern, I can not have a heart rate that I call regular because when I go up a staircase or I move the slightest, I feel my heart beating a lot faster. and that irritates me. Before, I was very active, but there was not that heartbeat that makes me panic. I have the distinct impression that something is wrong with me. Can it be my lack of training?
Can someone reassure me? Please.

Hello everyone, im here to ask if anyone has the same problem as me. I am 20 years and have had my pacemaker for 2 years now. I required a pacemaker because of heart block caused from a previous doctor ( ablation for WPW ). Now ive had this probelm with playing sports. I have the problem especially when i try to sprint. I had a exercise test and found that my heart goes into 2 to 1 atrial tach when my heart rate tops at 180. I cant do the things i used to do because of this and...

Since my new lease on life I have been focusing on new experiences each day, both large and small. I was so happy to have climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the weekend. It was such an achievement, considering 6 months ago I could not walk 5 metres. It took 3 months to walk 100m, to now being on top of the world, sort of. :)

Has anyone hade any experience with Amiodarone after pacemaker implant. I'm a senior cyclist on avarage doing 30 miles twice a week. I've reduced my dose to 100mg a day because of the side effects. I was put on it beacause of atrial fibulation at rest after exercise. I'm wondering with a three lead implant for heart block has anyone experienced atrial fibulation and exercise.

Alright, I can't be the only one that experiences this. M/33. I brought it up to my EP once and he shrugged it off.
Post sex after being on top, I can really feel my (dual chamber) Pacer going to town but what trips me (and my partner out) is that if I open my mouth we can very loudly hear my heart beat. I sound like I have a ticking bomb in my throat. It only ever occurs after sex in this specific position though.
Does this happen to anyone else?
For details sake, I'...

Brand new here. I have had my pacer since 8/18 and new pulmonary valve 6/19 (was born without one and made it to 66 with few problems) . I have been a fitness instructor most of my adult life. Now that I am all healed and have been back to exercise since 7/19 I am exercising like I did years ago. My problem is that my pacer bounces when jumping or doing other high impact moves and it gets a little painful. I'm sure others have experienced the same and wonder what solutio...
Upper rate limit

Hello all
Question on upper rate limit. For someone with a pacemaker (Medtronic), is the upper rate limit in effect their maximum heart rate? Secondly, does rate response allow the heart rate to exceed this limit? I ask because I think my limit is set at 150 but when jogging, it goes up to 170 (readings from chest strap monitor). Cycling is of course a whole different story, settling at 80-85 regardless of terrain or effort.

Hello all
I just got my pacemaker put in two weeks ago. I found
this site by total accident. I was diagnosed the end of July with an AV block type 2 and received a stent due to a vessel that was 90% blocked. Not long after that I developed the dangerously slow heart rate, and lost consensus twice. No problems eep since, all working well thanks to the new pacemaker. My question is this, I have been working out for many years now, and realize there will be many changes. I keep seein...

Just went from dual lead for 21 years to a CRT-P. Told I can't play golf for almost four months, perhaps because of incisions on both sides of the chest and third wire funneled horizontally across and down to left ventricle. Any similar experiences? Thanks

Heart rate training effect with pacemaker

I haven't been able to form a useful Google search for this question, so I'm hoping someone here will have an answer.
Most athletes understand the concept of the "training effect" -- challenge the body (including the heart) to perform at a higher-than-comfortable level over a number of intervals, to accustom/train/strengthen it so the higher level becomes the "new normal"... and repeat.
So I'm wondering, since the pacemaker controls the heart rate m...

Just thought I would pass on an important milestone (for me anyway) I achieved this week.
My Garmin tells me I have just ticked over 100,000 Kilometres ( 60,000 miles) on the bike since have my PM implanted at the start of 2013. I'm now 68 years young and cycle on average 5-6 days a week at a reasonably high level. So far so good.
Keen to pass on my experience - best advice - find a cardiologist who understands endurance sport and don't listen to 'armchair experts...

Hi!
I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing these exercise related issues during mountain biking (or any other strenuous activity) with a pacemaker:
My pacemaker is set a 140bpm max. Muscle fatigue is instantaneous when climbing hills, and my recovery after a ride is almost non-existent. My theory is that because I’m not getting adequate blood supply to the muscles I'm not getting a good oxygen supply either resulting in an all-over weakened state of movement....

Hello, all. I got my Boston Scientific ACCOLADE MRI Pacemaker (dual chamber) on July 29, 2019. About three weeks ago I resumed running after getting cleared by my doctor. I'm rather deconditioned from not run for about 12 weeks. I have been going out every other day for very easy, 20-25 minute runs. My pace is very relaxed, about 13-minute miles, in which I have complete control of my breathing. I could easily carry on a conversation at this effort. My heart rate at this pace is...

Hi Guys,
Back in May 2019 I got me a new CRT-P pacemaker after some endocarditis.
Boston Visionist. Previous to that I had a dual pacemaker Surscan from Medtronic.
I do a fair bit of running. But I do find that when the heart rate goes into the 140s I feel what I can describe as a flutter and my rate of breathing increases. The breathing effort doesn't match the running effort. This feeling happens no matter how slow I run.
The HR increases but again the breat...

My pacemaker will be replaced in late Oct., and was thinking of a Boston Scientifc PM (Accolade). I would apprecite hearing of peoples experience with this PM and how has functioned during exercise (running, climbing stairs, bicycling, hiking, and going up hills with a backpack. Do you experience fatigue, have to stop during exercise to rest, and etc. I do walking HIIT, hiking in wilderness areas, and hiking in general. My current PM does not support these activities.
I want...

Hi! Had my pacemaker implant on Aug 22, 2019, with a Medtronic Pacemaker that is "MRI, microwave friendly", since I also have arthritis and have to get an MRI annually. I am retired Air Force so had my implant done at Brooke Army Medical Cente. I have been a runner for 35 years, so my first question to the doc was when can I run again. He told me 4 weeks from the surgery date, but I have heard through the grapevine from other pacemaker folks that 6 weeks is probabl...

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
