Hi, my name is Sandy. I'm 22 I was born with tof/w pulmonary Artesia. My lead is malfunctioning and needs to come out along with another lead as well. I was wondering does anyone have experience in an epicardial: lead out side of the heart. It's being removed and I'm trying to figure out if the removal of this kind of lead placement is different than the lead coming from out of my vien or vessel. I just don't want to be cut open.

Upcoming 2nd opinion from an EP and I'm looking for help on figuring out what questions to ask and the best approach to take with the new EP.
Background: I am 5 months post-op, dual chamber "on demand" pacemaker implanted for 3rd degree AV block caused by swallow syncope. Complications caused by small, inaccessible veins resulted in a micro dislodgement of the right ventricular lead that is currently only sensing an average of 2 mV instead of a desired minimum of 5 mV...

Hello all,
Wow! Has time flown by... I first joined this club when I got my pacemaker implant in 2011.
I am due for battery/pacemaker replacement in May, and have recently been experiencing unusual flutter/wheezy/mild SOB. Could this be a result of my battery power decreasing? Of note, my atrial lead is a bit wonky and is requiring increased voltage, also... I have recently been tested for covid 19, and am negative, so it's not that.
thank you so much for any insig...

Hi
i just got a new Boston Scientific pacemaker implanted today. Once I got home and started walking around I got a strong burning sensation in the middle of my chest. I think it is coming from the wires. Does anyone know what this means or have you experienced this?

Just a thought Nhs have tonight said they are cancelling non urgent ops. Surely a battery change isn't classed as an no urgent op?

I've had my dual chamber pacemaker for 18 months. When I first got it I had 8.5 years. I now have 4 years left 18 months later. Is this normal? I will explain. I have a pacemaker for 2:1 AV block. My condition progressed to intermittent complete in July but doctors didn't know until January. We did many adjustments to help with pacing. I could all of sudden feel pacing but it was because my block worsened. So with setting changes it got better. I went from pacing 3...

Just had a 3 wire pacemaker 2 weeks ago
i thought the 3rd wire was to help my left bundle branch
now it has moved and I have to have an electrocardiograph. I guess to see if I still have the bundle
has anyone else experienced this?

Tomorrows the day! The third lead of my Medtronic device has gone dead and my EP will open me up tomorrow to see what he can do. This third lead has not been in an optimal position ever since an EP at TCAI installed it back in 2012. It's been eating up battery life and has gone "dead."
EP hasn't made any promises, since it's a tricky procedure. Replace the lead and leave the old in place or not? Or do nothing? We'll see!!

Retained Lead Fragments and MRI

Hi all,
I have a question on whether having a retained lead fragment from a prior lead extraction is a contraindication for MRI scans. I had to get my left ventricular lead replaced two years ago but during the extraction process the lead broke twice. They were able to get most of the lead out, but ending up abandoning a ca. 5 mm long ring electrode on the wall of the vein going to my heart. This electrode is made out of a Platinum/Iridium alloy. ...

My experience(s): Nov '18 - Treadmill stress test, no big deal. Excercise for me at that time was 1-hr. on the treadmill at 3.5 mph & slight incline followed by 2 mile walking track thingy, 5-6 times per week. EP replaced my 3 lead PM - due to low batt - on Nov 30 '18 with a 3 lead PM defib. The following month, I had 3 periods of excitement - diverticulitis followed by a C-Diff infection followed by a pneumonia. Mid Jan. '19 I was finally kinda normal except: exercise 4...

Before I further quiz my EP.......................what is the typical setup of a three lead PM? What is the third lead used for (mine has stopped working). PM - with the 3 leads was implanted in 2012. It has since been replaced with a Medtronic PM/ICD. Just trying to shore up my knowledge base.

I have a unique situation. Had an internal monitor put in in 2017, my heart stopped, so I was scheduled for a pacemaker at which time the monitor was supposed to be removed. I was half awake during procedure and cardiologist dropped the monitor and could not retrieve at that time it was in my chest after lots of denials and no mention on the surgery report, the monitor started moving (no pain and felt no movement) eventually monitor made its way to my breast, where it made a 180 degree turn l...

Original PM implant was 1989. Been limping along with bad lead for several years I have lost a significant amount of weight and PM flops around in my chest. I often feel like my pericardial region is irritated and inflamed. Also feel like I have lots of past scar tissue. Anyone want to chime in and give this newbie your experiences?

I just have a quick question for those with a pacemaker. I received my first pacemaker in 2002 after my heart transplant. I received my second in 2011. My last interrogation showed that I only have 15% battery left, about 9 months if I'm lucky. (I'm paced 95% in my atria). I have my original leads. Has anyone ever had their leads changed? I will have had these leads for 18 years in July. I'm going to ask when I see them in March about it, b...
