I have a two lead biotronic pm and have 100% dependency because of a av node ablation due to atrial fibrillation. I have a wiggly sensation or as I have called it worms or vibration in my chest and in my back when I wake up; in the morning or when I have been resting in the afternoon. They have my pm set a 75 and 135 which is higher (they say ) because of the 100% dependency. I have heard that they can set the rate response to a lower setting if you have such a thing on your pace maker. Doe...

Hello Blake,
Is it possible that the "previous.........next" could be at the bottom of the page as well as the top? Once I scroll down thru the fabulous pictures I would love it if I could click right there at the end of the pics. It is not a problem - goodness knows I would never complain about what you have created for us........ Just a thought I have every time I go to the album. It is great to see the photo album grow with pictures of all these wonderful people I have grown to...

Happy Holidays All!! Just found this group and thought I would post. I am a 47 year old female who was implanted in June of 2006 and had a cardiac ablation the next month. I was diagnosed with tachy/brady syndrome and atrial fib. I was born with Tetrology of Fallot which was corrected in 1973 and Dr. thinks is the reason for the other issues now.

ideas on how to get over a start of a cold before christmas? Although it could be allergies with this crazy weather. We had thunderstorms this morning. It was in the 50s where it is usually in 20- 30s.
Baby, it's cold outside! <:-)

Hello from Nebraska USA! I drove up today from our home in Kansas and it has been a beautiful day! The storm from Saturday left about 10" inches of snow on the ground and I was happy to leave it behind. The cold weather and I don't get along! However it is just as cold here in Nebraska. We are here visiting the Grandkids! Yes, they are each one beautiful!
I would like to say that I am so very, very thankful for the wonderful year I have had. 2007 has proved to be a life changing...

To update those who know my situation well. I went in for my pm check and I am clear from a-fib now. Which was great news. The nurse read to me what my doctor wrote to my regular dr and he said that he is pretty sure that I do ha...

I have had my pm for a month. I was taken by ambulance to hospital with complete heart block so am totally reliant on pm. The recovery seems slow but keep moving forward. I have noticed that when I bend over I feel light headed. Do any of you have this happen.
Merry Christmas to all

I wish to extend warm wishes for a happy holiday season and a healthy new year to all members. I will be travelling over the holiday season (visitiing family) and will have limited access to the Internet. If you email the club or post a message for admin, it may be a few days before you get a reply.
I'm in need or some rest and relaxation. Thanks to my device, I've been real busy at work, home and the shopping malls in December :-)
Happy Holidays,
Blake

I just had by PM replaced in April 07 as it was time to replace battery. The new model they gave me does a self test everyday. Does anybody have information regarding this? I found out about it when I asked the Medtronic Technician to see what was happening at 1 and 2 am. as I was waking up while I was sleeping and unable to go back to sleep. They've set it now at 5 and 6 am, and now I sleep through the night waking up at 5 am! I told them I would like that feature shut off or to have it se...

I will be going away to Gambia on the 9 January until the 23 January and will be in the middle of a course of malaria tablets?
I am having a pacemaker fitted on 28 January, and wondered if anyone had information of inter reaction with malaria tablets before I have the surgery.

Hello NUKA, you are an inspiration to me. I live in Kansas US and I work downtown. We have a lot of homeless people here. Many of them are Veterans. I will purchase Brand New Socks and I will hand them out as I pass the homeless on the streets. I will tell them that the socks are from a friend her name is NUKA!
God Bless you!
Merry Christmas!!
pacergirl
p.s. for all the worriers out there yes, i will be careful, I see these people everyday, and I will take a friend along.

Hi All,
I hope you will forgive me for sharing a little story with you that has nothing to do with my PM...or yours in fact. lol
We live in Winnipeg, Manitoba where the winters are usually brutal. We are terribly worried about the homeless and how they must be struggling for survival. My spouse and I contacted our children and asked them to bring $10.00 each so that we could buy new warm socks to give to our street people. This would allow us to buy about 25-35 pairs.....and they...

I had a new pacemaker installed a little over 2 weeks ago and want to know (since it is so ugly) if I can put cream on the whole area now or so I have to wait to call the doctor....This is much larger than my old one and is the size of a pack of cards and the scar which is not healed yet looks like I have been gored by a tiger.....Would appreciate any information. Also, every once in awhile it gives me pacemaker type hiccups or slammers to the pacemaker as I call them, not real hicupps. Thanks....
You know you're wired when...

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
