Hello pacer friends... I am not so good today... ;-(
I have been reading the wonderful post of caring and support this morning and it brings me comfort. I am sicker with the flu than ever before. It is getting better today... at least ... let's just say the tummy part has subsided for awhile.
It brings me to a question... Has anyone been really sick with the vomiting and had their heart go completely mad for a few minutes? Mines does then I get really dizzy and want to faint. I don...

Hello! My dear mother has a St.Jude ICD which was implanted in April, 07. ( I might add she is a tiny woman...barely 100 pounds) In July, she had to go back in because one of the leads had come loose. Now it appears as if something is sticking out...lead that was capped off...she calls it an "ice pick" because it is so very painful. Right now, even showering hurts her.
The suggestion now is to go back in and place the ICD under the muscle to give her relief. I guess I'm afraid to...

So, just a simple, hopefuly nonoffensive question. I have been off medications for...lets see since i was 8..now i'm almost 15...about 7 years. But i keep getting questions from new doctors and shocked responses when I say no. Anyone else not need to take meds? Just curious, I had to stop taking them when i was younger because they stunted my growth!! I was wondering because it seems like I'm the only one! But probably not.

I was just curious, after having surgery has anyone gotten stress in the back of their neck? And it causes you to feel lightheaded? Not sure if that is the cause, but just curious.

After getting a PM for slow heart rate, today I was put on medication because my heart rate was too fast. I was told that this is common. The medication I am now taking is CardizemLA. Does anyone else have to take this or something similar for the same problem?

Hi Everyone,
I have just had a remarkable day.... I had to go to the Docs for a blood test quite early.... and the staff at desk were so pleasant and kind ..then in to see the nurse who stabbed me with a needle about 3 foot long and she was a gentle as a kitten ..and I thought how pleasant it restores your faith in mankind....
I came home and read my mails from my pacerfriends which is what I live for these days.. and then jumped on my mobility scooter and down to the post office...

Cathryn! I am in awe that you see these whales in your own backyard! For those of you who are wondering what on earth I'm talking about, check out the member gallery and see Cathryn's picture of the Orca whales. Holy cow-- where do you live and when can I move there? You must feel like you're on an adventure every day! How beautiful!

Does anyone out there have a Biotronic two lead pacer that is a result of an Av ablation for atrial fib. and palpitations that requires 100% dependency? I dont read much about anyone who is 100% dependent. Kind of scary. Also with the pacer came a night monitor that checks it every night. It is right by my bed. Thanks in advance. DD

Has anyone read any data/ studies on heartrate and longevity? Before my pacer my doctor told me how good it was to have such a low heartrate - think athletes heart. Now mine is set to pace at 60bpm. I was just wondering.
Second question- do many of you find that you are pacing more as time goes on? Mine has gone up 15- 25% every check. I am still below 50% but when I asked he said "I expect you will eventually be 100% pacing" Is that the norm?
I was very surprised.

It's been a while for me to sit down and ask questions but i'm just getting out of my house for the first time in a couple days. I have a question for all of you that live in the areas where it snows or should I say pure ice.
For a while now, I have not been feeling the best but with this huge weather change it seems to get me more. My spasms are little more intense in my pm area and the feeling of my chest being really cold feeling or just a constant ache. Does anybody else get this? It...

Has anyone ever had this happen?
I went to my cardiologist yesterday and he informed me that my pm slipped down and I would have to have an x-ray to see if the lead wires were still as they should be. My previous info had been that I could swim in a month, but I waited five weeks. (Later found out it should have been 6 to 8 weeks). When doing backstroke on two occasions it felt as tho the pm moved (which it did) My concern now is will I have to have the pm surgery again? My pm is only thre...
