Sharp pain

I had my dual chamber PM implanted 4 days ago after the procedure I started getting some sharp pains in my opposite shoulder. By that night it was so bad I was in tears. It has gotten better but now it is horrible shooting pain in my right shoulder with every heartbeat if my HR goes above about 100. Could this all be from swelling or the procedure, or do you think it's a lead placement issue? I'm calling the doctor on Monday if it persists.

Pins & Needles

Hi guys,

PM and MRIs

I will be getting a PM sometime this month, if scheduling issues allow.  (Sick Sinus Syndrome and brady/tachy syndrome, not currently life-threateneing but symptomatic.) As it happens I have twisted my knee and am also waiting to see the ortho dr.  I think it's quite possible that he will order an MRI.

Too young for this...but NOT complaining!

Too old for this

AT 89 + years my sticky aortic valve decided to call it quits. I will have a tavr but first comes the pacemaker. Next Wednesday is the big day. Not at all looking forward to any of it. Tavr about a month away. Have had 3 hip replacements and knee surgeries and shoulder surgery. Have had heart arrhythmia for a long time. Dread this pacemaker thing especially the recovery aspects. Total AV block- Looking at Medtronic Micra AV,

Hello!

I'm a 36yr old father of 3, and I've known about my total AV block (as diagnosed at least) since I was 18.  My resting hr has steadily been dropping from the high 40's in my late teens to the high 30's now.  My maximal hr is about 130, and I can maintain steady exercise in a relatively normal fashion.

EP vs Pacemaker Tech

I have seen references to seeing your PMTech for adjustments. Do you make an appointment throught the EP's office for the Tech specifically or do you see the EP and they bring in the Tech?

When I saw the Tech at the hospital before I was discharged and asked about how things were set he said he couldn't make any changes without directions from the doctor so I am assuming you make your appt with the EP?

rare earth magnets

I'm looking at new knife storage and the one I picked has rare earth magnets. I know they're stronger and heard we need to be careful around them but didn't know much more about them so went on a hunt to learn more. the power of caffeine

Subtitled, I Really Should Know Better

Initial Low HR Setting

I recently had my pacemaker implanted for bradycardia that I have as a result of childhood illness. I am also a runner and my resting HR was in the mid 30's to low 40's. The pacemaker became a necessitiy when my heart couldn't keep up with my activity demands any longer. The EP set the lower HR on the PM to 60. I've had a BIOTRONIC Evity 6 DRT for 1 year and two months exactly. Traveling with my pacemaker

Shortly after having my pacemaker put in I took a vacation and went to the Philippines and I forgot all about my monitor.

I didn't have any problems in fact I'm virtually forgot about it.

Since I didn't have a cell phone number that the monitor could get to I was never called about the absence of data for that month

How do single chamber leadless pacemakers actually work on sinus node dysfunction

I was just reading about the new single chamber Micra AV leadless pacemaker. It says that it provides most of, but not all of, the function of a dual-chamber pacemaker. The one thing that it's lacking is "atrial stimulation, which would be for people who the atrium doesn't beat fast enough, such as in sick sinus syndrome or chronotropic incompetence". In that case, you would still need a leaded pacemaker in order to address these problems.

New to PM

My PM insertion was May 15th and I’ve been somewhat stressed because of lack of knowledge on how I’m suppose to feel.  My PM was suppose to be placed on the left side but at the time of insertion the Dr asked me if I’d had any problems on that side because it was obstructed or he wasn’t able to go that way.  So I have a right side PM and I am a predominately right side sleeper and I felt like I was laying right on my PM so I would sort of compensate and adjus...

Tomorrow I'm having the pacemaker conversation with my EP.  I have a list of questions, but I'm wondering what you wish you had thought to ask up front.  (I have lots of PACs/PVCs and now intermittent bradycardia - HR 40s, hx of A-Fib, and "a very ectopic atria." What should bpm with PM

What should your bpm be with pacemaker? In the house lying up in the bed the Fitbit says 64 bpm. Waking up from sleeping it says 51-54 bpm. I go for a walk with my wife and bpm on the Fitbit say 86 bpm the other day. Today it was 104 bpm. I'm still sweating while walking but not as bad.

Heart flutters while exercising

Hello, I'm 25 years old, have had my icd for 4 years , and several ablations for Brugada Syndrome. Upper pec and under arm still sore

Hi all..

Just wondering if any thoughts or advice for me. I am 8 weeks in after receiving my new PM on my dominant right side. I'm still feeling slightly sore above my right pectoral muscle and slightly under my arm pit.. I'm a little anxious about this as I am hoping to return to work in the coming week and as I work at construction (plasterer) I'm worried that either I have done some damage or will do damage to the pocket/site ..Any thoughts guys???
