Complete heart block to now having a ventricular escape rhythm

I have a damaged heart resulting from radiation therapy directed on my chest for Non Hodgkin Lymphoma in 1995. In December 2018, I passed out a few times and they discovered a complete heart block because sometimes there was no signal going to my AV node.

At first I was paced perhaps 70-80% of the time but then over time it was 100% ventricular pacing. However, I have been continually going to the EP to get my PM adjusted so that I can get back to my running/cycling, etc. and...

Newbie

Hi.  I just had my PM surgery on Monday.  One of my leads dislodged and He had to go back in and redo it the next day.  I'm so glad that i found this site especially since this is all new to me.  I was having issues of fainting and then one eay my heart rate dropped into the 40's and wouldn't rise but very little ( unless i did something strenuous like vacuuming).  I went to the ER and they ended up sending me home.  But the next day i received a...

CRT success rate

I've been put on a waiting list for a CRT-D  at Hammersmith hospital . No idea time frame so guessing after Xmas , maybe summer if Covid gets going again.

My question is , now that I'm reading up on it, apparently there is only a 60% - 70% success rate so what happens to the other 30% - 40% ? Is the CRT-D taken out ? I'm not expecting a pre op talk because I didn't get one before my ablation.

Should I install a PM?

Hi, I'm 43 years old, I have a type 3 heart block, what they call a "complete heart block". This was discovered around 14 years ago and a PM was suggested at the time. I currently do not have a PM.

They've also found that I have a bigger than normal heart (cardiomegaly?). I have a higher than normal ferritin (iron) level - around 300-400, and one time a doctor did a venesection (taking blood out in order to reduce the iron level) he commented that my blood is a lo...

Hello have a Azure XT DR MIR Medtronics I have a few questions about the app and pacemaker it self, I was wondering if it can see every think your heart dose, like the Rhythm and beats, almost like a recorder? And if it would show abnormal beats and stuff because I'm taking a low dose of calcium channel blocker's, I know. Can cause av block but since I have a pacer would that affect me still? Heart Block and Pacemaker

Hello all!  I recently found this place and this is my first post.  I had some questions and thought you all might be able to point me in the right direction.

TLDR - Will a PM make a big difference in my 3rd degree heart block?

I am a 43M, I was diagnosed with 3rd degree congenital heart block at age 36.  This is after spending 4 years in the USMC infantry, doc could not believe I was accepted to military service, or that I kept up.  I wore a holter for 72...

Feeling Down

Until March 2020 I was an active 59 year old with no health issues. August 3, 2020 I ended up with a CRT-D. 7 months of not being allowed to go anywhere & very limited at what I could do at home.  I am wondering how you all deal with feeling down or depression? And a new "normal"? My mind wants to do a lot my body is slow to follow & gets tired. This week I did start working out with my trainer, which is mostly strength training.  Thank you!

New Pacemaker

I received my pacemaker, Edora 8 DR-T, September 11, 2020. It's been one month. I've read and been told most people can tell an immediate difference. I have bradycardia and afib. My resting heart rate was 43 and is 63 now.
I just had my first checkup 12 days ago and my doctor made an adjustment. I still do not feel any better. I am fatigued and stay sleepy all the time. How long before most people see improvement? Thanks.

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
