pacemaker + Ventricular tacycardia

Ok- I have a question. I have had a pacemaker since 2002- yes its still ,my first pacemaker. My battery has less than a year so we are just waiting it out. Within the past six months my pacemaker has started to pace the bottom of my heart, I have also started having pretty bad ventricular tachycardia. I am taking metroprolol and ditalezem. I am still having chest pain and it feels like my heart speeds way up at times and beats so hard it hurts. Does anyone else have these two issues. I am in a...

Pacemaker moving around

hello, i had a pacemaker put in in January, this week, i had bleeding at the incision site, and the pacemaker has dropped around 3 inches, and is moving around during the day.
The doctor does not seem to be worried, but i sure am. Is this a common thing. SHOULD i insist on them checking again?
thank you/Mike

Keloid under the skin on and around the device

I had a pacemaker installed in January, 2015, and after a month or so was pain-free. But beginning about six weeks ago I began to feel lumps forming on top of and around the device and the area has become sensitive. I am prone to keloids and the scar has a few small lumps, but these that I am concerned about are under the skin. Any thoughts?

Ablation

my cardiologist recently informed me that I have a irregular heartbeat while at rest. I have a t. Jude 2210 two lead installed July 2011. He tells me that he would like me to try the drug route, then maybe ablation to cure the abnormal heartbeat. I only have the irregular beat at rest, when active, it goes away. Sometimes I have this "lumping" beat, or a flutter. Very scary sometimes. He wants me to wear a "holter" device to track the irregular beats.

I jog, bike, am very active....

I Have 3 Options - ALL Frustrating!

Hi all... I have not been in here in ages! All kinds of things keep happening, and I find myself worrying more about life in the real world, than about life in this strange cyber world.

So... Anyway... I have been offered 3 options by an electrophysiologist, after suffering with this horror story of a 3 lead, combination ICD/Defibrillator.

1. Leave the unit in - I was told it had never been implanted properly

2. Remove it and replace it. Why should I? So far I h...

Pain and stinging

Could anyone help I had a duel chamber PM fitted in January 2015. I've been in pain ever since. My scare is burning and stinging all the time the area round my PM is painful to touch. I can't lay on my left side. Or lay flat on my stomach. The pain and burning is to be getting worse. The area around my PM is swollen in the mornings. Is this normal. 😔

Pass out feeling

I had Biotronik will be 2 weeks Tuesday, I was just sitting in chair watching TV, and such a syncope feeling came over me like none before, I thought my head was going to explode, then it just eased off. Anyone have this happen, I thought this would keep me from having syncope?

Never able to return to activity after pm implant

I know that many people feel that their PM's really helped them, unfortunately that is not the case with me. I was never able to return to the level of activity I had before it was implanted..before implant I reached a personal goal of 50 flights of stairs in one day after pacemaker 0. If I try to be active I get extremely tired very quickly and break out in a cold drenching sweat......I have been home bound since my surgery, no more pool or walking my usual 10,000 to 20,000 steps a day and 10 f...

Hi

Hi so I've had a dual chambered pacemaker since the age of 15. I had a ross/konno procedure done and they were too aggressive and caused me to get the pacer. My question is, My battery has finally ran out. And I can not afford a new device change. So what is going to happen? They are trying to rush me into getting a new device but I cant put myself in debt for it. I would just like to know if I can get by for now?

What does Pacer Syndrom feel like?

Just wondering if anyone has had this.

I'm about 9 months with my second pacer (Boston Scientific) and I'm experiencing an increased amount of pain around my heart and armpit, with associated dizziness and nausea. With my old pacer, I had maybe 2 afib events recorded every 6 month visit. My last visit showed 14 and it's pretty much jumping or falling out of sync about every 5 minutes now. Can't sleep as I go into afib lying on my back and experiencing a lot of numbness in my hands an...

New device woes continue

I really miss my old device. I've had my replacement for a little over 2 months and I'm still having issues. I posted a while ago about issues with low heart rate below the threshold that the pm was set to. Still having 2-3 days a week that my heart rate drops down to 30bpm, but never did it when I was around the EP and the PM wasn't registering any issues. Thankfully after the last visit my EP ordered an event monitor to get some stats. So now that they see some of the issues I have to go back...

pacemaker replacement pocket revision

Hi,
I had my St. Jude pacemaker replaced December 2014, my old one lasted 10 years and it was put in deep you could only feel it if you poked real hard and it was protected, problem is I had a shands cardiologist this time around, and he couldn't even knock me out and when he opened my chest I had to grip the table and say ouch! he was arrogant and rude used staples insted of stitches, gave me paperwork and I was supposed to have a check up by St. Jude rep in 2 weeks he told me he would set...

Puzzling test stress results

Hello! It's been a while since I've posted :) Hi again, friends! I had a stress test today and was wondering if anyone has had similar results. My base rate is a junctional tachycardia to begin with. And the test showed that once I started exerting myself, the pacemaker started to kick in, a/v pacing. I went in and out of a/v pacing while the heart rate was between 130-120. Once it was down to 100 it didn't show any pacer spikes. Any ideas? Could it be settings? Let me know if you need more deta...

Atrial lead shut-off

Hi fellow pacers...

I had a pacemaker installed on 3/31/15 due to bradycardia with a HR in the 30's and several episodes of near-syncope. I woke up in recovery and was told I needed to be taken back to surgery due to lead wire displacement. That same day, they opened me back up, repositioned the wires and sutured them back in place. A day later, I began experiencing diaphramic "hiccups" and a chest x-ray showed the atrial lead had moved. They operated the next day and repositioned th...
