Hi all , I'm 42 and had a dual chamber implanted on march 7th 2016, after being promised the usual that I would be feeling like a new man after a while I'm still having severe complications , the pacer was turned down to its lowest settings due to myself being sensitive to pacing , I recently had a test and all is well with the pacer only pacing at 8 % coming down from 37%. All this sounds great but I actually feel terrible , I have severe dizziness and palpitations which have b...

Hello, I'm about 26 months post ICD implant, when I do shoulder rolls on my left arm I get a tremendous cracking noise and discomfort afterwards, also it seems there is a slight numbness down my left arm (ICD side) and even discolouring at time (discolouring most noticeable after a hot shower). Does anyone know any exercises that could help alleviate this?
I expressed concern to my cardiologist and he said it could be from IV and blood work (I have had a lot of blood work...

So I received a pacemake a little over 2 years ago for unexplained complete Heartblock. I am 46. I use my PM 100% of the time pacing only the bottom 1/2 of my heart due to the complete Heartblock. Everything was going along fine, I was feeling good, and even ran a half marathon in October of 2015. That is, until May of this year. I started have ATR episodes. They happen almost exclusively while I am sleeping. My doctor said I should cut back on my coffee intake, which I did (cut back fro...

Hello! I recently had a defibrillator after having 3 cardiac arrest events on the same day(10/14/16). The first one took place in my office. I was told that I was without oxygen for 24 minutes. I had another in the emergency room and then in ICU. They put me in a medical coma and a cooling bed for 3 days. After I was woken up, they decided to put in the defibrillator I am extremly lucky to have walked away. I am grateful, however I am still not feeling great. I have returned to...

Back again, looking for anyone who has/had similar problems.
For those who have given me advice in the past I have been on Bisoprolol 2.5mg since the start of September for inapropriate sinus responce. I dont get fast heart rate, only goes up to 90 ish, but get ectopics and episodes were it feels like flutters/thumps/pause. Most of the day time I feel quite well and my activity levels are so much better in spite the the beta blocker, it is more when I try to slow down, siting watching t...

Hi all, my husband, has Sick Sinus Syndrome and Bradycardia. We opted for a Pacemaker. A few hours after surgery a Tech came in to test it. He layed what he termed a magnet over the pacemaker. My husband screamed and his monitors went wild. The Tech removed the magnet. The Tech waited a few minutes and tried it again...with the same result. My husband begged me to find someone to help him. Next day Cardiologist came in and tried it for himself - same results - my husband was being shocked. Sa...

So I had the cls turned off as it was literally preventing me from exercising. I had them enable the old school accelerometer and it has been a mixed bag. The great news is I am able to run for the first time in years. Knocking out 4 mile runs with ease!
The bad news? Well, I am having a racing pulse when riding in my wife's car. It is a sporty little gti and it is like the bumpiness of the ride is perfectly simulating a run. It has me feeling awf...

Hi, I am Alan, age 76, In 2011 I was pronuced clinally dead due to total AV heart bock resulting in a permanent heart pace maker to keep my heart beating at above 60 pulses a minute
Hi although I have a heart pacemaker installed in my chest wall during 2011 and the battery still has five and a half years left before it runs out, I have been having problems with irrugular heart beats or palpulations that are some times scary.
It is scary because this is exactly the sa...

I had my ICD implanted on August 15th, 2016. From the night it was put in to present I have issues with pain. It is an extremely intense burning in my left shoulder and across my chest. There is also still an area from my collar bone, across my chest into my armpit, and down my left bicep that is still numb. My implant has moved several inches and is now poking out of my chest. The Dr has confirmed the movement and the skin thinning out on top of it. The rest of that he says he has...

I am an athlete diagnosed with chronotropic incompetence. I received a dual sensor Boston Scientific pacemaker. It is set at min 60 bpm and Max 150 bpm. I am often light headed and have weakpulse rapid heart rate 3 weeks after installation, when walking or playing tennis. The docs have no idea what to do . I am so frustrated. Is there some sort of adaptation period they did not tell me about and it's getting more frequent

I forgot to add in my earlier post, I was diagnosed with 'Pacemaker Syndrome.' Has anyone here had that dx and what did you do about it? What were your symptoms? Thanks so much for any and all info. I have already been to "Dr. Google" but would love 'real people' info.

I was hoping you all could help me shed some light on some difficulties I am having.
I have had my pacemaker now for four years due to my heart stopping when I go from sitting to standing. In those four years I have never had a problem with my pacemaker until recently. In the past month, I have been to the ER three times with extreme chest pain where anything life-threatening has been ruled out. I have had a stress test and echocardiogram that were defined as "stone cold...

Hi All!
I am a nurse in the ICU--I also have a biventricular pacer (for 10 yrs) and have gone through many complications along the way. Since I have been having a smooth couple of years I wanted to reach out to everyone to see if I taught classes (since I am a RN with a PM) about very basics anatomy/physiology, to cardiac meds, to HF (I have been in HF) what would you think would be valuable? This would be no cost to the community and can be ANYTHING cardiac related as I have...

Ever since getting pacemaker 1 1/2 years ago, my heart has felt 'weak' on and off, i.e. a sinking feeling in my chest when heart beats and my feeling like fainting. Blood pressure is a little lower than than before PM was inserted (used to be about 115 and now about 95). Faint feeling is worst after light exercise. PM clinic and emergency say I'm OK; I don't think I am. Is it normal to feel faintish after getting a PM? The day after having the seasonal flu vaccine I...
