tachycardia

Just my $0.02 worth of info: Before becoming a PM dependent, A-V node ablated dude, I had this experience: First 3 atrial ablations - by TCAI -  failed. 4th try in June 2011 appeared sucessful.  7 months later, I developed a NSR 125 bpm heart rate. Contacting my EP @ TCAI resulted in a return phone call by his nurse asking, "How do you feel?"  I felt OK, but I knew things weren't right. EP and his companion Doc from St. David's Healthcare made no real effort t...

Help

I'm so confused.

Just had an echo cardiogram done today, during which the tech asked if I had been told I had afib. Which was one thing I didn't have. Test was done and I was asked to have a seat. Few moments later a cardiologist came to speak to me. The Dr told me that my atrium is not pumping correctly and at times- not at all. That my heart, my history and this is very complicated but get was going to call my Drs and I'd hopefully hear from them tomorrow or Monday. But no...

Can anyone explain what Ventricular undersensing means. How is it recognized and what are the effects of it on PM function. Medtronic wev site says that vent.undersensing may be an issue of His Bundle Pacing

Do any other members have HB pacing ? Any experience with the techs looking for different issues etc on the interrogations?

Thanks for any insight anybody may have.

Waking up

I've had my pm since 2009. I only use it early mornings when my heart takes long pauses ..lately I've been wakmg up 230 330 am with my heart racing ( not sure if pacer is slowing down at that point)  This is happening more and more now.  Does anyone else experience this issue?  My last pacer check was in the summer . They said I have another 5 yrs of battery left.  I'm wondering if its either slowing my racing heart or perhaps malfunctioning?

I did have a...

Pacemaker that is implanted in the heart? What is bothering you about it?

Were I not expected to become a pacemaker patient in the future too (according to my Dr. and family history at least) I would not be here shamelessly asking for help.

I am an older UC Irvine student, and I've chosen to direct my efforts towards a goal that also affects me personally. I am trying to find the faults in current pacemakers, and try to influence the either my school or the larger companies into improving their device based on the concerns and complaints of the end users...

Subclavian venous stenosis at the level of pacemaker leads

Has anyone experienced this?  Just got results (mentioned in subject) of a CT scan w/contrast which was done to determine cause of circulation problems in R arm (same side as PM).... arm swelling, aching, discoloration, pronounced vessels, etc.  Next step I'm told is to discuss with an "Interventional Radiologist" who would possibly go in and try to dilate vessel.  Really don't want to live like this, and don't know if it will get worse.  Being told i...

Life after pace & ablate

I had the completion of a pace and ablate .  I will be seeing the EP as he said this procedure would make me better and it has made me worse at the time he said in 30 years he had on 2 that got worse.  I have been told at the A&E that I have left sided heart failure. How is this? I now feel sick most time and with severe shortness of breath would taking Digoxin help?

Vascular thoracic outlet syndrome

I'm experiencing what I think is Vascular Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in my left arm, same side where my PM is located.  Appears to be a circulation problem vs. nerve impingement at this point anyway (swollen arm, some aching, weakness/fatigue especially with any use, very visible/raised blood vessels in areas (new/unlike other arm), discoloration (arm is different color than other).  My PM got replaced end of June with a larger one and this one has always bothered me (itching, occ...

Question regarding increased pacing

I’m currently short of breath and read lots of the other forum posts about what it could be.  I’m 2 days out and have had several echos that showed no issues. Is it normal to be short of breath with a change from 70 to 80?

My pacemaker

Hi I am in the UK.  Had my pacemaker fitted in September lasy year a medronic dual lead for bradycardia following two blackouts and my heart stopped for 3 seconds. I have felt horrid since with breathlessness easily and pain in my left breast at times. On my check up on Monday my cardiologist said all fine and pacing very little but he asked me to press my hands together in front of my chest and to press my left hand against his he then said the pacemaker went fuzzy and just said they wo...

Palpitation

Hello all, I have a pacemaker implant Oct 19,2018. After a month and up to now I’m getting once in while some kind of palpitation or fluttering that will start from my epigastrium and travel all the way to my throat. It will last for less than a minute and feels like something is stuck in my throat.

I just wanted to know if any have experienced the same and how get rid of it.

thank you all and have a blessed day

pericardial effusion

The day after my placement, 8 weeks ago, I began experiencing what felt like a gas bubble in my stomach.  Completely eliminated my appetite.  The following day, I was in the ER with what they diagnosed as GERD after a CT scan looking for a clot, which was not there.  They gave me Zantac and Prilosec to take.  Things got better and they got more painful, sort of back and forth, but not like the day I went to the ER.  This went on for 6 weeks. I kept in contact with my...

Pregnancy

I’m six months pregnant, and I’ve had my PM since I was 3 years old. Obviously, it’s not very common for someone to have one of those at such a young age, but I’m 18 now, and six months pregnant. The first question I had for my doctor was about the complications that could arise with my PM. He just said he wasn’t concerned about it. Any ladies give birth with a PM? What’s the norm for us?

Thanks!

Constant Cough / Wheeze Since ICD Fitted?

It has now been six weeks since I had a dual chamber ICD fitted.

In that time, the dry cough / wheeze I've had seems to have gotten worse. It is particularly bad when I lay down at night to sleep, often taking me hours to drift off.

My pacing rate has been set at 40, dropped from 50, after I originally had problems with a diaphragm twitch. Would turning the rate back up help improve matters?

Does anyone else suffer with similar symptoms? How did you fix the problem...
