I had a biotronik CLS pacemaker placed 6 days ago for orthostatic hypotension. I have been having severe back pain and shocks. They are worse than labor pains. I ended up in th Er the day after being discharged from hospital. All tests were normal. Chest xray, labs Ekg. The device rep interrogated my pacer. They released me to home. The Dr that placed it thinks its not the pacer but nerve pain for the shocks and the back pain for being on surgica...

At the end of this week I am scheduled for a complete pacer and lead extraction. This will be my second pacemaker, I only received my initial pacer 6 years ago - I'm almost 26.
I had complications with my first surgery (mini lung puncture) so I am definitely anxious about this upcoming procedure.
Has anyone gone through this procedure before?
Was there anything you did before or after to help with recovery and settle nerves?
Thanks so much!&...

I am in my 40's and have had ICD for half my life and have been able to stay fairly active. I recently got a ICD surgery, in the past i have always had medtronic but got a boston scientifc this time. I have started noting that every time i sleep on my ICD side or even lay on the ICD side it starts pacing and it doesnt stop until i switch sides. Has anyone else experienced this ? i am going to see the doctor soon to go over this issue.

I am a 63 year old man. I had a PM Insertion about a month ago and have been experiencing heaviness/dull and pulsating pain at the back of my throat when laying down which dissipates within minutes. I reported the paint to the doctor and he shrugged it off as temporary agitation related to the insertion. My reason for the pacemaker Insertion is a Type 2 AV block. Has anyone else with a similar condition had similar pain when lying down? If so, does anyone have a good explanation for it?...
Distraught: under sensing problem

Background: I had a long, complicated initial implant surgery of a dual chamber PM. Due to vein access problems, the R Ventricular lead was known to not be 100%. The surgeon thought it was 80% but it has since degraded to 40% and remained there.
At 6 weeks post-op, my 2nd visit to the PM clinic confirmed that the R Ventricular lead of my dual chamber PM is still under sensing: a 'suboptimal' 2 millivolts instead of an 'optimal' 5 millivolts.

I had my CRT-D installed (left shoulder) at the end of April, and my recovery went well and I felt fine all summer long and was able to use my left arm and shoulder normally. I even completed 3 months of cardio rehab at the end of September.
In early October I noticed that I had some left shoulder pain, and the pain has increased since then. Its painful when reaching behind me, overhead or across my chest, and it is difficult to get comfortable in bed so my sleep is disturb...

I have a dual pacemaker and allergies to multiple components in the pacemaker and leads. They can't find anything in Canada or the USA. They are trying to find something in Europe that I'm not allergic to. Then they have to apply to Canada Health to see if they will pay for it. Is there anyone else who has this problem or a solution for me?

Hey everyone! I just had a pacemaker fix with my rate and it was a success, I now can exercise but now I am having shortness of breath and it is worse when I stand up after laying down or sitting. I experience palpitations when I stand up as well, I hate it and it's really bothered me to the point I can't do anything. I went in to see if it's me getting sick and everything came back normal. What do you all think could be causing my shortness of breath and palpitations upon st...

I had a pacemaker placed almost a year ago. About 5 months after living with it, I noticed visible veins in my left bicep area. It went form my antecubital area to part way up my bicep. Now that vein is visible across my shoulder to the middle of my chest. The vein is flat except for at my antecubital area where it is slightly palpable. I did start to work out with light weights maybe 6 months ago. My arm is not swollen, but sometimes feels "heavy." Might be my imagi...

Have had tests to check out this pain. It is near pacemaker. It feels like it's right on my heart. Scared me. Tests and more tests but Nothing is wrong with my heart or the pacemaker or the leads or a-fib or anything.
BUT, I have pain ranging from 4 - 9 and it occurs watching tv, walking, not during exertion. It is sporatic but no one can tell me what causes it or what to do about it.
No one doubts that I'm having pain, but where does it come from? The pacemaker itse...

I'm 77 and have bradycardia and had a pacemaker installed in September of this year. After recovery from the implaant I noticed the occasional indiscriminate twitching or electrical surge. They grew more frequent and became an annoyance.
The technician who diid the device check said the implant went perfectly and I'm only using the device 13% and mostrly when I'm in deep sleep. When I discussed the twitching, he had never hesrd if it and said he had t...

Two weeks after PM implant I started having eczema around both ankels...at night! Driving me CRAZY! I had an allergic reaction after my surgrey which resulted in welps all over me, It started in my hands and back of my neck and spread. My hands were secured with a soft foam (which I have yet to determine if it was latex) and I had the same foam for a neck rest. At night my PR is higher (80-90).
This is a shot in the dark but tought I'd ask. Thank you !

I had some complications because of difficulty accessing the vein during initial pacemaker placement 4.5 weeks ago. As a result, the ventricular lead is under sensing my natural heart rate. A few days post-op, the pacemaker clinic said the lower lead was only sensing at 40% "sometimes". They reassured me that it is not dangerous and can be resolved a few different ways but that they will recheck at the 6 week mark. They confirmed that the pacemaker is...

I am post 6 weeks after implant and at times heart flutters feels like skipped beats and I get a weak feeling. This happens when I ramp up my activity working in yard climbing stairs etc. perfectly fine in the morning and at night, seems to be tied to activity. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this. Was wondering if it is just my body getting used to this device.

I am 57 and just had a Biotronik Edora 8 DR-T implanted on Oct 11th, 2019. I am very active and was enjoying running, biking and swimming when all of this unfolded. It all started about a year ago when on a run I felt like I was going to pass out. My legs felt like they were encased in concrete and I had a feeling of impending doom. At first, it only happened when I ran, but then started happening when I swam. It was intermittent for a few months but then in September, it began to happen more...

Hi
I'm 43 years old and 5 days post pacemaker implantation with dual chamber DDDR for sinus node dysfunction and symptomatic bradycardia. I feel a lot better already apart from wound and anaesthetic effects, which are improving thankfully.
I was woken by bleeping from the device last night. Should I be concerned?
Any experience or explanation would be awesome.
Thank you
Lesley
