Hey everyone,
I have not been on this forum in a long time as everything was going pretty good. So a little backgraound, I have had my dual pacemaker for 5 years. On the day I had my pacemaker put in the top lead fell and started pacing my diaphram. Well 2 more surgeries later and I have had no issues. So last Saturday night I woke up at 12:45 and reached out to my husband and told him I did not feel right. At first I felt druged until I sat up and that sensation went away, but my mouth...

Days after my pacemaker insertion I had severe pain in my chest and went to the ER. All the heart tests were fine. They believed the issue to be GERD and one test showed I had a hiatal hernia. The hernia was a surprise to me. Maybe it's coincidence, but how could a pacemaker aggravate the hernia?

I had a 6-month follow-up with my top notch plumber cardiologist a cuple days ago. His advice re: COVID19: "This virus will be around for the next 2+ years. If you have any surgery/whatever events planned, watch your local COVID19 rate chart and plan your move(s) for when the rates are decreasing, not increasing. Late summer this year may be an ideal time for your planned epicardial lead insertion. Next fall and winter could be very interesting, like it was in 1918."

Hello everyone!
So the saga continues. This morning I got up from bed and went about my usual morning routine. I was tired so I returned to lay back down. When I laid on my back almost instantly I felt this weird flutter. I recorded it on my Apple Watch and for the first time ever it showed AFIB. I am wearing the Zio Patch so I clicked the button as well. I felt this before but this was the first time I captured it. I sent it to the docs so let's see what they say. I find...

Hello everyone!
Back again with some news. Boy these past few weeks have been rough. I've been to the ER 4 times in the past 3 weeks. Twice in the past 24 hours. I can't shake this dizziness, the lightheaded feeling, chest tightness, arms burning, weak, sweaty, rush feeling. It's driving me nuts! I took my BP last night and for the first time ever it said Irregular Heart Beat. It's NEVER done that before. It showed 158/73 and HR of 73BPM. That made me go back&...

Hi everyone. I've just found this site after doing some searching for a problem I'm experiencing.
I had a PPM fitted on Valentine's Day this year for Bradycardia. It is set to AAIR<->DDDR.
I've had my 6 week check and the techies say that all is well and that my PPM will learn my lifestyle and rate response etc will react intelligently. Wow, methinks.
I've been taking my dog for a walk, probably about a mile at a time, a bit hilly but not mounta...

Update on my previous post due to being discharged late yesterday (Tuesday).
It never ceases to amaze me how many medics need to be present on discharge of a patient. I've been through a few surgeries and I have my own theory as to why the number varies, story for another time maybe. Yesterday I counted eight staff, ranging from healthcare assistant, to ward nurse, junior doctors and finally consultant. I'd swear there was a psychiatrist lurking in the background too.<...

I have a dual chamber pacemaker placed about 2 yrs ago and I'm 53 yrs. In the past two weeks I have had increasing pain, tenderness, and slight swelling at and around the pacemaker site. I have no fever or redness. Has anyone else had this problem? What was done? I have sent a message to my Cardiologist and Electrocardiologist offices.

It's been exactly two weeks since implant. Wound drained out the front and filled my arm for two weeks. Still never met the doctor. Went in today for the check up the nurse said, "oh hematoma" put a bandaid on it and sent me home. But after two weeks I should not be stil bleeding right?
i think I need to shake this doctors tree but should I wait it out

Hi all,
I'm wondering has anyone experienced a tightening of the chest post pacemaker surgery, as though you cannot get enough air into your lungs.
Particularly happens on exertion, even light exercise i.e. walking my dog less than quarter mile. If I ignore initially and continue to work my heart for example cutting a large lawn then the feeling becomes quite severe and I get an ache in the upper right side of my chest. It takes me a few hours to feel 'normal' again.

I am 44 and i got a dual chamber pacemaker in 2015. I managed to displace a lead and while repositioning it my Doc screwed up big time. After 2 surgeries in 15 days I still had a displaced lead.I was suggested to have a 3rd surgery . After discussions with a few docs over the next 2 months, I decided not to go for a 3rd surgery.
Anyways, I haven't required too much pacing and the pacemaker has been working fine. But I keep getting this pain all arou...

I haven't posted in a long time but just wanted to know if anyone has experienced left shoulder pain and swelling at the top of the shoulder. If you have was it connected to the implant. I am experiencing that and it is very painful. I have had my device since 3/2009 and next year and when my battery will be replaced.

I had pacemaker surgery at U of M 5 months ago - things were OK for awhile but for a long time now I've been dizzy, lightheaded, with low energy. I went off the metoprolol they prescribed and things got a little better. Still on profafenone and Eliquis. Not getting any help from device clinic or doctor - I'm monitored overnight for 5 minutes with a unit next to my bed and they tell me all is good with pacemaker. So it m...

I had a successful ablation for svt in May 2019 & a PM fitted in Sept 2019 for bradycardia . Over the past few weeks I have noticed my heart attempts to go into svt again, all the old warning signs are there but so far the symptoms have lasted at most 20 seconds or so without going into a full blown svt. Has anyone else experienced this. I'm getting a tad breathless with little exertion at times.es as well. A tad awkward to approach pacing team & GP i...

Hey,
I was hoping to get some of your opinions on what could be going on. I am 20 years old and have had a pacemaker since i was 7 months so I am not new to this or anything, but recently I think my pacemaker has been acting up. My current pacemaker is a ST. Jude and i had it put in Nov. 2017. For the last 2 days my heart rate has been rouly 85-90. Normally my pacemaker keeps me in thw 70s and all the down to 55 at night. This almost 90bpm heart rate has been keeping me up, and waking m...

Hi there, 23 year old pacemaker recipient for CHB caused by ablation for SVT. Pacer installed (Medtronic azure mri) late January in the his bundle position. Since the procedure, I have had irritation which at first felt like palpitations but now I think it's my phrenic nerve. This irritation, which feels like a flutter right below my heart, is only when I am in certain positions like bending over or when I yawn, laugh or do anything strenuous. It is really taking a damper o...
