I posted this before, thought it was resolved but is returning. The PM was put in 5 years ago to resolve a total blockage of the signal between chambers when at rest.. While exercising, particularly on extended vigorous efforts such as on an elliptical machine, my pulse builds to the 140's (I'm 72 and have never had a high pulse rate). It then may drop suddenly to 100-120 and bounce back after 5-10 seconds. It used to be more dramatic when it would drop to 85 and stay there...

Hi all,
I am 34 year old female.
I have had my ICD implant about 2 years back and was overweight at that time. I had dilated cardiomyopathy for about 5 years now and I am on medications. Post-op, I started exercising and started loosing weight. I am now at a good weight and still exercising every day.
But recently I noticed that my arms and fingers are getting very very numb post workout. The numbness does not go away unless I have a hot water shower. And numbness is there on...

I was definitely apprehensive and did not know what to expect. The guy I played is of simiklar skill level.... we go to all out war when we play.
He said you set the pace..... we will go as hard or as easy as you feel appropraite.
I had imagined us gentlemenly hitting the ball around......
It didnt take long until it...

Doc reccommended I change my BP med from HCTZ (hyrochorathiazide) to Liprinosil, but after reading the description of it that I got from both the pharmacist and from things online, I am a bit leery about changing. For one thing, I am also on Xeralto blood thinner, and my cardiologist recommended I eat some spinach daily, as Vitamin K may help prefent that - not guaranteed, of course, but may potentially help - and if I did have internal bleeding, I would be getting Vitaman K...

Wow - implanted 10-22-2019. Trying to heal physically and wrap my head around this new reality.
Prior to I was a racquetball competitor in pursuit of a league championship at my club . I played 3-4 days a week and was known for my mobility and stamina.
Ive been slowly sticking my toe in the water walking 2-3 miles a day . Yesterday I ran a little on the treadmill - I felt kind of scared .
I am wondering why my heart suddenly started beating so slow ? My con...

I'm getting a PM implant on this Friday and am a bit indifferent about it. I understand it is what it is and I cannot predict the future, I do trust the Sovereignty of God, however I'm yearning to get as much information as I can regarding my surgery and recovery. I have ignored it up until now as though it might just fix itself but Friday just keeps getting closer!! I'm a very active and an avid horsewoman and Grandma. I ride everyday and haul to co...

Dear All
could someone tell me if a cardio frequency band (the ones that are wearable on the chest)
can be used by a subject with an implanted PM? Could it interfere with the PM?
Thank you in advance for your feedback
I wish you all a great time.

Hi,
I had my pacemaker fitted 5 weeks ago, I still wake up with it at night, I feel like I have a lump of metal in my chest, my shoulder aches every day and it still feels lumpy and I cannot enjoy the sport I love which is running. Please can someone advise if it does get easier as it is getting me down. (It was fitted to speed my hear up as it was dropping to less than 20 beats per minute) Thank you.

I’ve had my pm for five months and have had an issue of energy when playing Pickleball. I’m trying to determine if it’s old age (81), incorrect eating habits of low energy foods, physical conditioning, or needing pm recalibration. I play highly competitive three days a week and used to play 4/5 days a week before moving to current location. My issue I just seem to lose energy and get weakness after playing the first game and it gets worse the more I play. I seemed...

Hello just got my PM installed yesterday. Dual chamber under the pectoral muscle. I read through the fourms and found some old posts but I have been doing BJJ for 12yrs + my kids both do it and I am hoping to continue training. Does anyone here train BJJ with a pacemaker? Any restrctions?
Thanks

Good morning all, I have a pacemaker since mid July 2019 and I have only one concern, I can not have a heart rate that I call regular because when I go up a staircase or I move the slightest, I feel my heart beating a lot faster. and that irritates me. Before, I was very active, but there was not that heartbeat that makes me panic. I have the distinct impression that something is wrong with me. Can it be my lack of training?
Can someone reassure me? Please.
