This seems a little elementary but I have a couple questions.
My pm is set for a minimum 60bpm. Is it possible for my heart to skip a beat if it's beating at that minimum 60bpm. Lately it seems that it's missing beats occasionally.
I'm also having occasional tics or twitches below my left pectoral. These twitches keep beat with my heart. It's been just uncomfortable but lately, it aches some in that area. I'm getting dismissed by the doctor's office on this one. Has anyone else d...

I just received this from my Brother-in-law Dave. I thought I would share this with my fellow pacers.
Twinkle Twinkle in your heart,
it really gave us quite a start.
Electrodes, wires and Lithium Cell,
is all that is needed to bid you well.
Beating strongly in your chest,
timed just right to serve you best.
We are greatful God kept you away,
from his palace and here to stay.
Here on earth we need you still,

I would really love to ejoy the chat room that is provided to us by Blake, but this is not working! Anyway it would be great for all of us to communicate in a nice enviroment. Blake can you have the room open all the time? Without specific times? that way when we log we can go directly there after reading postings of course and chat?? Anyway I am inviting all into my Facebook site...
Please help us out here Blake!

I have no luck with doctors lately. About 3 years ago my primary care doctor took early retirement. I was upset beacuse I liked him and had him for about 14 years. Then about 6 months ago the new one I had sent a letter saying he was moving. Fine, I found a new one. well, a few days ago I get a letter from my cardiologist (I have had him for about 3 years) saying he was moving. Is it me? Luckily there are 3 or 4 other cardiologists in his practice (and thet're looking for a new one) so I don't h...

I had got my PM Apr 30, 2007. I want to know how soon anyone started running 5k or more in distance? How much improvement should I expect. I am excited about the prospect of how fast I will be running.

As many of us know, recently Medtronic started putting ads out into the media to peddle their merchandise. I thought that was about the worst I've seen.
Today I just starting seeing an ad from Johnson & Johnson telling us to ask our doctors if knee replacement was right for us too.
This isn't just about the greed of these companies anymore. These companies have all but hijacked the medical profession!
A common denominator I've noticed between these ads on TV by t...

Hello Everyone,
I recieved my PM on March 23 so it's been about 7 weeks. From the beginning I have had a pressure in my chest that seems to come and go. They told me to take Advil because there may be small amounts of fluid around my heart. It seemed to help but it keeps coming back. Yesterday the pressure became much worse, advil does nothing now. Last night I could not lay down flat I had to sleep propt up with three pillow. If I tried to turn on my side I would get a sharp pa...

Hello My Friends, A big thank you to all of you who wished me a Happy Birthday. You really made it extra special. It is amazing to me how we are all so close but would not know one another if we passed on the street. Strange but wonderful! This has been a very special day and I thank you again. Blessings to you all.

After reading Cathryn's post about airport security, I was reminded of an incident that happened to me. Two years ago, I was traveling to Jamaica with a mission group from my church, and I was fine with the US security checks. When we got to the Jamaican airport, I was taken into a closed room and patted down. The female agent then asked me to show her my scar. I was wearing a t-shirt and had to pull it up to show her. I thought this was uncalled for, but I needed to board another flight with my...

Hello. I been looking online for a support group.
A friend of mine has a son who recently had a pacemaker put in. He is in his earlier 20's, and he is having a bit of a hard time adjusting to some of this. He really needs someone to talk to, and I was hoping maybe someone knows of a group for young adults .
I would appreciate any feedback or information.
Also, feel free to send me an email with information at

Hello there, I have searched high and low to see if i could find information regarding what happens when the battery life has been reached on a pacemaker and surgery has been declined. My father is 100% dependent and the decision has been made to not replace the unit. We have started to see symptoms of this, hypotension, diaphragmatic stimulation, etc. It is my understanding that the pacemaker adjusts itself and then evens out? Can anyone help me with more information? I would like a bette...

Hi,
As I posted earlier, I received my PM Apr 30, 2007. This all happened too fast! I don't know what is next. Did I get the right PM? What do I expect for the "interogation?" What questions should I ask? I want to be informed, but not overwhelmed.
