Had pacemaker implanted March 2014. Been having episodes of skipped beats. Horrifying like your heart stops, flips. How can this be with a pacemaker??? Had Stress test done last week and then Echocardiogram Friday. Doc said stress test showed blood flow too slow at rest, but could be a false positive thus she ordered the echocardiogram. No results on that yet. Anyone else experience these skipped beats? If so did you see a doctor? Would appreciate any enlightenment on this matter.

I just got my PM installed and have not sleep since. I also seem to have some high anxiety to go along with it. They set my PM on 70 and I seem to be speeding. Sleeping pills work for 4 hours only and are dangerous. Any suggestions, or is it just me.

Hi
I'm new here. I had my PM changed yesterday, and cannot move without agony. My first PM surgery was not this painful, and my doctor assures me I am NOT NORMAL.
He suggested I go to the ER for IV pain meds, and in same breath assured me he has never had This happen before, and it must be ME. The surgeon used glue over incision, and the burning sensation when I move, try to walk, etc, feels like I have been shot.
How can this be normal. Anyone else totally bed bou...

Is it possible for the pacemaker to make it's way to pushing through the skin and making it painful to the touch? This has been happening for about 3 months now and is very painful to the touch. I've had it since June 2010.

Please don't judge me crazy, but I've been wondering what will happen when my body is ready to die. Will the pacemaker keep on ticking and will this expand the amount of time it would take to die - waiting for the liver to give, up, the lungs, the bladder, etc? so that instead of dying, your body just hung in there! Would they remove the pacemaker when all signs of life are depleted? I asked my doctor this and he actually ran out of the office and told me I was freaking him out! and he did not...

I received my first pacemaker (Medtornics) April 1, 2014. Everything went along very well for about 3 weeks, then the incision began to drain - it had looked as if it was healing very well -- the site was red, warm to touch and as the days went by drained more and more frequently - drainage was clear red orange in color. They gave me antibiotics for weeks and it continued to open and drain till the opening was about the size of a pencil eraser and the pacer was visible. May 30 they removed it...

I've this has been posted elsewhere-I apologize. It's been about 18 months since my Surgery, and for the past 3-4 months the pain in my chest/left shoulder has been getting worse and worse. The pacemaker actually still "flops around" in my chest, and the wires or something protrudes from the pacemaker site. I get sick to my stomach at the seeing/feeling the pacemaker moving around and the wires protruding..I'm in constant pain, and wondered if anyone else has had the same experience. Thanks

Have many of you had to deal with pericarditis? After my implant 8 1/2 weeks ago I've been to the E.R. 4 or 5 times now with painful breathing and a painful chest. After the first three visits (all 4-5+ hours) with NO answers other than the 3rd time they did a CT scan to rule out a blood clot in my lungs and came back and said well you don't have a blood clot and I was like⦠What about the pain? and the ER Dr. said well you have pain medication and I told him I wasn't looking for pain medicati...

This year I underwent Mitral valve repair. Was done in March and although the repair was successful my heart conduction system was permanently damaged. This now requires that I undergo Pacemaker device implant permanently. Has anyone heard or have information regarding this type of issues caused by Mitral valve repair. I know that it could happen if the valve is replaced with a mechanical one but not sure if it's possible on repairs. My heart other than the valve issue was very healthy and my e...

So I had my pacemaker implanted yesterday, and they lost the little temporary card they were supposed to send me home with. It was supposed to be sent back to my room with me, and it was never found. Does anyone know if this is particularly important? I'm not flying any time soon, but should I ask my doctor of he can find me another one? How long does it take for the actual card to arrive?

I had a pacemaker implanted in late March of this year to treat heart block. The cardiologist assured me that I'd feel great and after the incision healed be able do anything I wanted to.
As soon as I got up and walked around the cardiac ward after the implantation, I knew something was wrong. But I was assured everything was alright. The morning after they let me out of the hospital I was back in the emergency room. I had developed in atrial flutter which was driving me into tachycardia. I...

I was wondering if I could get any feedback or information on a problem I'm experiencing with my pacer. I'm having really weird sensations on the left side of my body which is the side where my device is. It feels like the left side is tingling really bad then my heart rate feels like it is getting weak and I get very very light headed as though I'm going to pass out. Then my heart will start beating really fast. When my dr put my pacer in he ablated my AV node and I have a demand pacer. But, t...

Hi everyone. I haven't been on for awhile as things were going so good. No asthma issues since March, exercising regularly, but very overweight no matter what I do or eat... I'm a 60 yr. old female, PM implanted 6/13. I have been having terrible joint pain, extreme fatigue, itchy skin and head, some hair loss. Went to family doc who tested me for lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, connective tissue diseases, and Vitamin D count. No connective tissue type diseases, thankfully, but I have an extrem...

What's the difference ? Having to have a second operation to successfully correct a botched first one ,I have done a lot of research since then .My first implant was done by a cardiologist not an electrophysiologist !! The shock lead had penetrated the wall of my heart and the operation had to be done a second time ,this time by an electrophysiologist .The second time it was done correctly !! I had much pain because of the first botched operation .Let me tell you that some cardiologists take a...
