Greetings everyone, I am glad I have found this site and group.
I have had a slow heartbeat as long as I can remember (around 42 bpm) . I have had tests and ECG's in the past and doctors have never gone any further with it and I always thought I was just incredibly calm (!). Fast Forward to 2020 and my wife and I have both retired and relocated from Colorado to Kentucky to be closer to family and I found a new doctor. On my initial appointment she immediately...

I'm new here on the forum, thanks for any responses. I had to go to the ER for a heart rate of 40 over a 4 hour period one afternoon. They took me off diltiazem, but I still have HR 40 intermittently.
I have a history of Afib and somewhat successful ablation, except for aLOT of PACs (burden of 22%), alot of atrial bijeminy. The EP says "non-conducted PACs" are causing the bradycardia. I can't take meds to control them (diltiazem and fle...

Hi all,
Looking for any advice and views to my new situation I know find myself in. My new Sorin Eno ( Medtronic leads) pacemaker was fitted on the 28th April this year, it's my 3rd device and my previous 2 were Medtronic..Unfortunately my last device was only in for 3yrs and had to be removed in March because I developed Endocarditis on the leads..After a pretty tough few months of heavy antibiotics and trauma , my new device was eventually fitted ..But as you can imagine the...

I am new here and have to see doctor tomorrow to schedule a pacemaker following a failed ablation in December, 2019. I experience, but do not feel, over 36,000 PCVs in a 24 hour period daily as measured by 2 different holter measurings for 48 hour each during the third quarter of 2019. Reading all these posts, I am most concerned.
What should I expect? Does anyone here have had a history of these amounts of PVCs. I am on Brilinta and Metoprolol.
Any info would be greatly appreciat...

Hi guys, it's been a while...
Ticking along fine with my Micra leadless PM. Almost had it a year now for sinus node pauses. I'm considering getting some orthodontic work done on my teeth. I need fixed metal braces and probably a couple of extractions first. I wondered if anyone has experience and if there's anything I should be concerned about or questions to ask before I go ahead?
Thought of a couple of things:
1) Perhaps I should get reassurance from my ca...

Hello, I've had my PM about 1-1/2 years or so. My heart valve was damaged due to chest radiation (breast cancer) - and I passed out a couple times - the ticker just wouldn't keep up. That's the background, not that I think it matters much.
They put the PM on my right side (opposite of the heart) and the leads under my collarbone seem to be doing their thing and pinching the heck out of me. Depending on what nerve they hit, the pain can go down my arm...
What Doctors and Tech know

Three months in and still no answers. I am amazed at what Doctors and Techs don't know about these devices. (Perhaps I should have said my Doctors and Tech but reading some of he comments here makes me think I am not alone.) Have concluded that it is because they aren't living with one. They understand "how" they are suppose to work but if there is a glitch they go to some manual to try and figure it out. If that doesn't work...as told to me...it...

I am having my pacemaker upgraded next week.

Last time i had sedation and local, just under 3 years ago....why would they choose this instead and has anyone else had a general to do this? It is currently placed under the muscle and it was very painful last time so i am dreading it a bit...

Thank you all so much. Just an update. I went to see my GP who has referred me to my cardiologist. As I am being shielded I have been offered a virtual consultation on Friday as a private patient. This I have accepted. I decided to go for a short walk yesterday wearing my pulse oximeter. After about 20 paces I was very breathless, the alarm went off on my pulse oximeter. My pulse reading was 96 but my oxygen sats were 91. The sats wen...

Hi. I had an aortic valve replacement on March 23, 2020. I'd previously had a right bundle branch block identified, but it was never something discussed with me,
Following surgery, my unpaced heart rate sat at 30bpm. After 5 days it was decided I would need a pacemaker. It was only in reading the pacemaker surgeon's summary notes that I saw I was described as having complete heart block.
I am starting to feel closer to normal as far as the sternotomy goes. It is nearly...

The run up to my PM procedure happened very quickly. Went to doc at 9:45 am and checked myself into hospital at 1:00pm. Had heart cath at 3:30 and PM insertion at 9:30 same night. Prior months I had Nuclear stress test, Echo, lots of EKG's but breathlessness and 2 presyncope " spells" sent me to doctor. I NEVER thought I needed a PM.
QUESTION: When my doc discussed procedure he mentioned I would have Temporary PM before they placed the permanent one. I had a ban...

I'm trying to find a doctor that actually HAS a pacemaker. I literally cannot find one in the state of California.
Can anyone refer me to a GP (or Cardiologist preferably) that actually has one of these?

Hi I had my pacemaker fitted on 22 May 2020 and to be truthful I am a bit shell shocked.
sorry this will be long..
In October 2019 after wrongly being told by one Dr that I had virtigo I had a 7 day heart monitor. The result was that every now and then my heart would stop for 4 seconds so I was referred to cardiology at the hospital and was told it was an urgent referral. Finally after chasing up the appointment several times I was due to see someone on 31/3/2020...

Just to say hello to everyone. I received my pacemaker three days ago. Brief history, passsed out and fractured my elbow in July, 2019. After surgery to repair my elbow, I had a 30 day external recorder followed by an internal loop recorder. It recorded a seven second cease of heart activity on May 9. Cardiologist recommended and after research, I agreed to my new addition.

Hi everyone. I'm new at this. Had pm placed 6 mo ago. I love the beach. Does anyone know of ill effects from the sun? I was told that it could be very sensitive. Just don't know about the heat. Thanks.
