I have a defibrillator but also take some meds to control my arrhythmias. I had syncopy episides and was put on amiodarine and mexiletine. I've had nothing but side effects, most likely from the amiodarone which is very toxic. I'm scheduled for a epicardial ablation where my doc will attempt to ablate some of the scar tissue on my heart. My question is about the drugs I'm taking. Has anyone else been on these drugs? If so, how long did you stay on them and how did you feel? Also has anyone ever...

Hello, all!
It has been a long time since I have posted on here, but thought I would see if anyone could offer some insight.
I have a dual lead Medtronic Adapt, ADIR mode, lower limit set to 90 to out pace the junctional tachycarida that I have been experiencing for years. I have sleep mode on, lower limit set to 60. They made these changes last friday, and I was feeling really great, but then monday I started to experience what felt like pvc's/pac's.
Went into...

A few months after implant, my left arm started hurting. I asked the surgeon afterwards about the pain and she said it sounded like a rotator cuff. The pain got worse and now is consistent, it's not getting better or worse. It does not hurt in normal activity, but certain motions/activities it hurts really bad, such as putting on a coat or reaching around putting my belt on. Am I going to have to live with this......

Had pacemaker inserted on Mar 17 for carotid sinus hypersensitivity. In two weeks will go back to clean wound and check pacemaker to be sure still working as it should.
It has been only 3 days, but it has been difficult remembering to not use my left arm. Today I may have put too much pressure on that arm from an automatic reaction and dislodged a lead. Not sure how to tell.
It seemed the pacemaker had also fixed a skipped heartbeat problem I've had for many years....

Hi! I'm
Just about 8 weeks post of from implantation of BiVentricular
CRT device. I went for my 2nd follow up and 1st optimization appointment and received bad news. My LV lead migrated so they turned off the pacemaker. I'll have surgery again to either remove it all or have them fix lead.
I had zero improvement. But the issue is we don't know when the lead moved. It was working a week post op. My dr. said that for a case like mine I should see improvement with...

So as I mentioned before I went today to my cardiologist and he checked everything. The PM was working fine and he used some tool (I don't know honestly what is it)to check my heart muscle by pressing on my heart(maybe a defibrillator I don't know) and he told me that my heart muscle is fine but he saw that I had skipping beats. He prescribed 2.5mg of Concor/day and told me it's not something serious since my heart muscle if good..I asked him if the pain I'm feeling is due to these skipping beats...

I have a lump in my RT breast and am waiting for test results. If malignant, can I have radiation? What about mastectomy, both breasts? How will this affect my pacemaker? I have a very strong family history, thus thinking ahead-just in case.

Hi,
Had a pacemaker fitted two weeks ago. My heart rate has always been slow at around 30 BPM as I exercise a lot. however, upon being very suddenly admitted to hospital after a routine ECG they found that my heart beat was fluctuating between 18 and 35 beats per minute when asleep. I have my pacemaker check in 3 weeks and have had a dual lead fitted but I am concerned as I can sometimes feel my heart beat really heavily but not fast. Also when I lean forward I have a weird feeling...

After the pacemaker, my doctor added heart medication causing side effects. The worst lately has been something that my doctors believe is gout: complete pain now and then in my feet - to the point that I need to go to the emergency room. It could have been caused by an ED drug that is also needed because of the heart medication slowing blood flow. Welcome to the new economy: the drug company cycle for the baby boomers. And, of course, since the pacemaker, walking up stairs is nearly impossi...

I AM SO BEGINNING TO HATE THIS THIS MONSTER IN MY CHEST!!!

So after a year of no problems no shocks and heart seemily going great I get shocked twice last friday. I do the call to the doc and heard nothing. So...

About 2.5 years ago stresses occurred before, during and after PM led to anxiety disorder which has been managed with diazepam (Valium). Life has been a struggle. After weaning off the drug last year, the disorder persists and requires Valium. Does anyone have long-term anxiety/stress disorder due to heart problems? Thanks.

I am posting this on behalf of my mother who has a pacemaker fitted. Recently I aquired a device for her which allows her to listen to the TV more easily.
The device works by sending an electromagnetic signal to a receiver which she wears around her neck. The receiver then transmits a signal to the telecoil in her hearing aid , which produces a clearer sound from the TV.
Does anyone have any experience of this type of device and any knowledge as to whether the elelcreomagneti si...

It's been a week since I've had my new implant of a Boston Scientific CRT device. It's been a few days that I have been feeling very short, stabbing pains on my left side where the device has been implanted. Has anyone ever felt this before? I didn't have this trouble with my first Boston Scientific device.
