I had a two lead pm put in on st pattys day. I was suppose to have a three lead originally but due to heart stoppage during the procedure, they had to abandon the third lead and settle with two. I now am having to go back and get the third lead due to the two lead not being enough. I am out of breath constantly and have swelling of the feet and legs. The flutters are very scary. Has anyone had he same procedure so soon after the first? I am very scared that I will not be lucky this time aroun...

Hi all,
I'm new here as you can tell. Found this site while surfing symptoms.
I had my device implanted on 6 Sep 16. Thelead up to the necessity is long and I'll be happy to discuss it later if anyone is even remotely interested. Suffice it to say, my birthday gift to my son for his 27th birthday was continuing to live.
The issue I'm having is something difficult to explain. My healing and adjustment has been going well. I am aggrivated by having to be on light d...

I'm not even a month out from surgery and have noticed that my pacemaker flips when I lay on my right side (My cardiologist placed it further down toward my breast tissue). When I turn to lay on my back, I have to push it down flat. Is this something of which to be concerned with? Thanks in advance :)

Hi guys,
I am 28 and had my pacemaker inserted 8/8/16. I'm not sure if it has always been moving around or if I'm just now noticing...but when I lay on my right side, the pacemaker bulges and I can actually feel the edges at the top of my left breast. When I switch to the other side, it bulges there as well. It feels slightly bruised and painful when I touch it--nothing major.
I guess I am just wondering if some movement is normal. I remember my surgeon saying he cre...

Pm placed 6/2016. Dr Dr dx based on ZIO monitor worn for 48hrs. Results -asystole-cardiac pauses 4, 6 and 8 seconds. Dr called me at home and stated PM needed to be inserted soon. Side effects of my paroxysmal fib meds can cause asystole and other toxic effects. Discontinuing med was not an option? Hospital stay difficult, chest pain at 0300. Dr on call ordered percocet. (Trauma r/ t procedure)? Several visits and adjustment later, pain and edema...

I went into the E.R. for Afib and was diagnosed with Sick Sinus Syndrome. That was at 3 am on 8/17/16. My heart was having long pauses. My doctor said you need a pacemaker and by noon the next day I had one. I wasn't told much other than it was the state of the art pacemaker and I could have MRI's and didn't have to worry about microwaves...etc. My doctor said there was no restrictions, that was it. My head was spinning I didn't even k...

Hi,
I'm a 31 year old woman who had a Metotronic dual chamber pacer put in for Bacardia and 2nd and 3rd degree heart block. I had it put in July 21st of this year. They've adjusted my pacer three times already. I'm so tired all the time and I feel like I can never catch a breath. I was told I would feel better after this and I don't. My quality of life has really gone down. I went to my cardiologist two days ago and he said I'm fine. The checked my pave maker and sai...

Hi,
I am new to this so please bear with me. I am dating a lady that has a pacemaker and is soon to have surgery to remove the device from the left hand side of her chest to the right. I have been trying to find a platform to get the view of other people close to someone with a pacemaker as struggling at times to manage thoughts, feelings and emotions around the upcoming surgery. Any ideas please? Thanks A

4 weeks ago he got a pacemaker. Was supposed to be kept overnight the take a few weeks or so to recover. Well, the perforated his heart inserting the lower lead causing blood to build up.
They were going to "go in" to repair but waited to see if bleeding would stop and the blood disapate spending a week in the hospital. They then said he could go home.

I've had many complications with my pacemaker and wires mainly with my veins.
My pm is fitted because i had a sinus arrest of 29 seconds 5 years ago aged 30.
I've had blood clot after blood clot in my subclavian vein and had my pm and wires replaced for smaller ones 18 months ago but the last few days I've not felt myself and have soreness (always tender) around my pm site area plus all my veins are very prominent. This has been an ongoing p...
