My pacemaker was fitted after discovering I had a 2:1 AV block. That was in November 2020.
I have had a few changes to the pacemaker settings since then but now on a setting of VVI40 (which only kicks in if my ventricles drop below a rate of 40bpm.
I am now pacing in the ventricles 1.3% of the time.
A very small amount.
I am able to exercise and go about my daily business without worrying about overusing the pacemaker but at the same time not worrying if i w...

The doctor recommends green veggies and lean protein. which means i have to leave my veggie lifestyle after 30+ years. Thank goodness hopefully will be for only 3 months.
I got back the results from the Food Sensivity test, which showed me why i reacted to some of the foods that have been eating.
She did say i need to take EPH/DHA a fish oil or Algae Oil. Said i read online that fish oil can cause A-Fib. Since i do not need that, will try the Alg...

Hi Everyone,
I'm a 25 year old male that got a pacemaker implanted when I was 2 years of age. I am on the search for any treatments to resolve the need for a pacemaker. If anyone knows of anything please feel free to send it my way.
What I have discovered so far is magnesium apparently is great for healing/ repairing damaged tissue around the heart but I am only early in my search and do not know of any proven studies.

I've been having tons of what I think are PVCs lately. I don't feel the "hidden" pulse though, unless it's right after the true pulse. If that's the case, I don't see how the next pulse is being inhibited. I've been having them while cooling down after walking but recently at random times, mostly at rest.
They don't show on interrogation reports but only strings of four or more will record. My device nurse told m...

First off to quote a famous saying. "There is no such thing as a free lunch"
sure I've spent 15 days in the hospital 5 days each, 3 different times, had a lot tests done, had a lot of doctors fawn over me. Walked out the front door and not had to fill out 1 form or reach for my wallet.
BUT
I have pay about 30% combined Federal and Provincial income taxes.
I also pay 13% sales tax on everything I buy at the store.

I've not been on this forum for very long at all, but so far I've seen 3 posts inferring that the Covid vaccine may have caused some kind of cardiac issue.
I'm interested because there has been a bit of hoo-ha in Parliament over here because an MP (Member of Parliament) raised previously undisclosed research which seemed to infer known cardiac reactions to Covid vaccines which he felt should have been disclosed. He felt that the...

Hello all! I'm glad I found this site. I've been all over the place with my new ICD. I was implanted a week ago and a week after I had V-tach and the doctors could not figure out why and had to transfer me to another hospital with an mri team that could do one on my heart. I was told before my mri that I had a right branch block and after it they diagnosed me with myocarditis and significant left ventricle damage. I begged to not get the device but the EP doctor said there was no othe...

Wrote to my doctor to ask what the high blood reaction meant. She wrote back saying "its a metabolic issue meaning the way the body is working". Usually diet and how your body is dealing with the food." I then wrote and asked "so the foods i eat are causing this problem". She then wrote and said "only is so far as how your body processes them".
She then wrote and said she usully recomends :green vegetables and lean p...

Hello everyone.
First of all, my apologies for not being good at English.
I shared a few posts before to give you information about my disease and to get information. 6 months ago, I learned by chance that I have a congenital heart block and it is now 3rd degree. All tests were done, including Mri. Some doctors said that one day I would have to wear a pacemaker, some said it would be helpful if I had it installed, and some said I could wait.&nbs...

Continuing the discussion of what Lavender mentioned about her doctor leaving. Had that happen with my GP who sold her practice to a large corpropration. This corporation only took Medicare Advantage which meant i had to leave since only have regular Medicare. Because our local hospitals got there own hospitalist. Meant she lost that money from her 5am rounds. Unfortunitaly she got Covid19. Decided to leave her practice intirely .

Hi all, Just found this forum and it's great to read through some of your experiences with a pacemaker.
I'm a 51 year old male. I'm due my second RF ablation in February for persistant AF with an EF of 36%. Been on Amiodorone for over 2 years which kept me in rhythym. Unfortunately the Amiodorone has given me an overactive thyroid.
My EP thinks due to extensive scarring above my atrium and right ventricle that the ablation will not h...

Hi. Got a pacemaker less than a week ago and have heard that chainsaw and line trimmers are a no go.Please tell me that's not right. I teach chainsaw use in New Zealand.
You know you're wired when...
Your pacemaker interferes with your electronic scale.

I am just now 40 but have had these blackouts all my life. I am thrilled with the pacer and would do it all over again.
