Are there other, less expensive USB adapters that work with the Merlin Home Transmitter. The St. Jude option seems somewhat expensive.

4 weeks post CRT-P implant, all good except apparent diaphragm pacing because when I lay on my back especially it creates a constant regular jumping in my chest/left side area I live 600 miles from Clinic where done have not yet returned . They say it can be adjusted ? Has anyone experienced this. Thank you.

Hi,
My 6 year old went into complete heart block last February following an open heart surgery, and she had a pm placed on Valentine’s Day. I know the bottom parameter is 80 and the top is 180. She’s sleeping (fairly deep sleep) and her heart rate is 90-93 instead of 80 like it was in the hospital. She had her first pm appt with the ep on March 25, all looked good. Can anyone explain why it would be 10-13 bpm higher than the low setting at sleep? She doesn’t have a fev...

Hi all!
Going on 4 years now with a PM
When my pacemaker (AV block III) was put in, they were going to set the low frequency at 70, high at 130.
I admit that I didn't fully understand, and I thought such a high "low" would make for sleep problems. So I had them set it at 50 -- 130.
Starting about 2 1/2 years ago I started having extreme fatigue, especially after an adreliline flow (good or bad). I would feel this way for hours (a feeling of getting up too...

I got my pacemaker in Jan 2019. I'm not happy about the scar. That's not what bothers me though, it's actually kinda funny cause people aren't used to seeing someone so young with a pacemaker, so they ask " OMG did you get stabbed?" It's the little shocks I keep getting every now and then. Is that normal?

Hi! I started training for marathon last year, it was a gradual slow training process as my trainer knew I have pacemaker. I was also going to the pacemaker clinic several times and they made several tweaks on my pacemaker setting. However, late last year I wasn't able to join the marathon I signed up for because as we started our training for uphill, I noticed I have some fainting episodes. I went back to clinic and they've done a holter monitoring and it showed several SVTs but...

I am an active 63 year old male who has had a Medtronic A3DR01 since December 2017 due to third degree heart block. I was initially set in MVP mode and was pacing the left ventrical at around 30-35% of the time. After about 1 year I was told that I was missing ventricular beats and was reset to DDD mode with a 0.250 second lag. I am now pacing at about 80% of the time. My reading tells me that it is best to minimize left ventricle pacing, so this makes me unc...

Hi everyone, I would like an opinion on this. I was in a serious motor scooter accident almost two years ago. 24 days in hospital, right leg broken in four places, brain injury, the list goes on. Eight months later, I passed out while singing in a choir concert. Started seeing a cardiologist and had all tests including electrophysiology, could find nothing. They implanted a loop recorder with hopes to catch something. Four months later, I almost passed out...

I had a Biotronik inserted 3 days ago. Me pulse races to hr of 120-130 with minor, minimal exertion. I have read on some posts that some EPS feel that the system’s CLS is the problem, and this feature should be turned off . Anyone have any experience or opinions?

I have just had an AV node ablation a couple of days ago. The pacemaker was implanted 6 weeks ago. The lower rate is set to 80bpm which is not too comfortable as my own rate was low 60's. But my problem is that if I do anything remotely active my pulse shoots up to 140 or more. What is going on? I am scared to move. I have phoned hospital, but will have to wait over the weekend. Can anyone advise please?

Just received a Biotronik for SSS and CI. 3 days post op. I’m in good shape and, until recently , always had basal HR in 40s. Device is set at 40/150. However, now my basal hr is in 70s. I feel uncomfortable with a fluttering feeling in my chest. When I do very simple action like walk up stairs,it goes to 84. When I walk a quarter mile I get tachycardia with hr 120-130, and I have to sit down- worrying about passing out. Want to go back in and get this pm removed! I was told...

Hi everyone,
Really pleased I found this forum. Would be grateful for any help.
I have had a dual lead ICD fitted for the last 15 years and two ablations for AF and SVT. For the most part I have coped well and not had any problems. Over the past past few weeks though I have been feeling distinct malaise - restless, sweating, insomnia. In short I just can’t relax which is leaving me in a misery.
i recently has a regular echo and my cardiologist checked o...

Hello to all. As others have said, finding this site 6 weeks ago, after that casual "complete-heartblock-you-need-a-pacemaker" day, has been so meaningful to feel, listen and learn from others.
I have an appointment with the cardiologist next week and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to what I should ask about. Sorry for the length of this message.
While I was in the hospital getting a dual chamber PM (3 leads), my bp continued to be higher. I'd...

I have kidney disease stage 3 and heart disease. I have had my St Jude Pacemaker since 2015 for SSS, low setting currently at 60 BPM. I limit sodium intake to 2300 mg (usually less) and limit fluid intake to 64 oz (both per Nephrologist advice). If I have 2 lb weight gain, I take Lasix.
I feel hesitant to take Lasix since it is hard on kidneys but know excess fluid is hard on the heart
I'm wondering... if I had my low rate higher, such as 70 BPM, would I have less...

Hey all. What a week! I went in for my 6-week check. The technician was not very clued up and had to keep phoning Medtronic for instructions...also defensive about answering questions... anyhooo... Cardio sorted the settings and she teleconferenced with colleagues and I left with my HR upped to 70 bpm from 60bpm, RR turned on AND sleep settings in place between 22:00and 06:00 @ 50 bpm.
By Thursday I was Exhausted! I had been rudely awakened each morning at 04:00 by a rapid...

Had my 4 month check up for my device and it went great. The doctor was happy with the healing, never had to use the device at all and everything is looking great. They paced my heart to make sure it worked and that was weird, felt like someone had a thumb on my heart and was pushing, was not a fan.
