Almost 4 months since implant and on my 3 month checkup doctor noticed my resting heart rate was in the low 100's. I guess my watch and BP cuff were not reading my pulse correctly. My struggle is that I cannot seem to be very active cause I top out around 145-150 and the doctor said that's correct. I've called the office to see about other options but I'm shocked that my resting rate is so high since I was given a PM for 2nd degree heart block and a HR in the 40's. Ha...

Last night I woke up and had a whelp that looked like a huge mosquito bite above my pacemaker incision site. It was itchy but went away.. it's been itchy all day today.. tonight I have another whelp in the same area but not the same place.. This time it's below my incision.. I've had my pace maker for like 3 1/2yrs.. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, what caused it?

I have had a pacemaker over a year for bradychardia. Prior to that, just before I would have a syncope episode, I would have feelings of deja-vu, tingling in arms and nausea - I was told they call this "aura" to warn you that something was about to happen. Despite the pacer being adjusted and being put on a once-daily dose of 5 mg Midodrine to elevate my blood pressure, I still have feelings of aura without losing consciousness. My cardiologist cann...

I also have a Medtronic CRT pacemaker implanted in May. I haven’t had the pain that you describe. Keep asking your EP about this as you shouldn’t be feeling this level of pain and discomfort.
Good luck!

I have new CRT Medtronic pacemaker. I have had short instances of pain in my heart since implant. It feels like either nerve pain or a lead firing a nerve. Short sharp burts of pain. Not constant and don't happen all the time either. When power was lowered at check up pain lessened. My heart was penetrated when lead was screwed in to muscle and I coded. Drain was installed and I recovered well. Has anyone else had similar pain? Medtrinuc says all is ok but I know this is real a...

I am 41 year old female who was diagnosed with Complete Heart Block. I have had my PM for a little over a year now. For the last few days I've had a tightness and uncomfortable feeling in my chest as well as an achy feeling in my left shoulder and upper back. For the last three nights, I have been unable to sleep on my left side. When I turn to sleep on my left a shooting pain starts under my left breast with a burning sensation. Close to unbearable and I must immediately get o...

My Dad is 89, had a packmaker put in , in July of 2017. Other than being in the hosipital pre pacemaker, where heart rate would drop briefly to 40, then back into the 70s, his heart rate when he checked his bp would be somewhere between uppder 60s and around 80.
well, last night, he wasn't feeling that good, checked his BP, and saw a pulse of 56. Tried my meter on his other arm and got 52! He started to feel a little better in the enening (we did put in a call from his PM card and t...

HISTORY:
Non ischemic cardiomyopathy. Heart rate 30-52. BP varies, not sky high. Near fainting. Remarkable lightheadedness one occasion. Left ventricle some subendocardia damage, same ventricle has septal dyskinesia, that is, instead of squeezing, it moves in other direction, (hopes this yields to electrical correction).
LBBB, Bradycardia, muscle damage moderate, but ventricles are electrically, mavericks
EF about 35%, 40% some tests. frequent PVC&rs...

I received my medtronic pm in July 2018 and felt great within minutes after coming out of the anesthetic. I couldn't believe how good I was feeling after so many years of feeling crapy. But about a year ago I just wasn't my "new" self. By January I was feeling really tired again. I thought it was my thyroid because several of the symptoms matched along with the weight gain and hair loss. Called my GP for an appointment and went for blood tests. Sure enough everything was out...

Hello everyone! I just wanted to post and see if anyone else has had the same problems as me. When I stand up from lying down my heart rate shoots up 40 plus beats. I will have a heart rate of 60 and then when I stand it will hit 120. This makes my chest feel tight and I can feel my heart race. It will eventually within 10 minutes subside but I do not know what it could be from. I have wondered if it could be POTS because I have the shortness of breath upon standing and the chest tightness. I...

Hello everyone!
This past week I've really noticed my heart beat. I've also been having chest pain with mild exertion. The chest pain is like a burning in my chest mixed with an ache. I've been to the ER and they say its anxiety. I'm seriously ready to lose it as I know it's not. My heart has been throbbing lately. I can feel it. It feels like this weak throbbing heart beat mixed with a dull ache sensation in my chest. It almost feels like my heart is either struggli...

Hi, I have just had a pm fitted and my husband has changed the induction hob to ceramic, reading the comments on here there is no definitive answer whether ceramic is any different to induction. Can anybody help, I’m getting small palpitations at random times.

Hi Everyone..... I am presently 8 weeks post pacemaker implant. At 2 weeks I started to develop a buzzing or electrical current sensation in my feet and legs that pulsates. This happens when I go to bed and is contact related (if lying on my tummy it will be the front of my feet... lying on back it will be the lower ankle ... back of feet). At 3 weeks the pacemaker clinic at Toronto General checked out my pm and said all was good and they did not know why this was happening. I als...

Hello everyone!
This is a question for anyone who really understands their PM. Now the last time (2 weeks ago) I went in for a PM adjustment they changed the CLS and Accelerometer set to OFF. I have the low end at 60 during the day and 50 from 12-6am while I sleep. Now guess what? Somehow I feel MUCH BETTER! I still notice my symptoms but now I only notice them when the PM is in use. For example when resting and my heart rate drops to 60 I feel a fullness in my chest. Or...

I had two episodes where I thought I would pass out from the ectopic beats prior to my PM and today three months after placement I had a short episode where I felt I was going out. I was hopeful this wouldn't occur after my PM. My heart rate was in the 70s so I probably wasn't pacing at the time. It scared me. Also had a little nausea an hour or so after walking 4 miles. Felt good while walking. Last night I had some tachycardia for a short time while lying down. Perha...
