Thank you for your advice I'm sure I'm over reacting with anxiety. Maybe they are extra beats which I know 'normal' people get when stressed! We all have a lot to worry about at the moment with Covid19 but hopefully things will get calmer soon. The feelings I get are definitely when stressed! I need to get my breathing sorted as I know I tense myself which doesn't help. Be back here soon no doubt, thanks for caring!
Happy Easter everyone!

Whilst trawling the internet this morning, i found this https://www.pacemakerclub.com/message/8168/who-has-lived-the-longest-with-a-pacemaker
I found this story from 2012 - https://thedailynews.cc/articles/greenville-man-living-a-healthy-battery-powered-life/
Then I wondered if i was near the top of the list for the UK - I had my first pacemaker in the summer of 1976 when i was 7. However, i found this - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-20072515 -...

Hi everyone! 12 weeks post pm and still feeling anxious although much better. Can anyone else feel their pacemaker kicking in every now and then or obviously when it's needed. It's just a strange feeling which lasts 1 or 2 seconds sometimes with an adrenaline rush. Checked a few times since including x rays so wires fine and technician thought I may be just sensitive. Thanks for any help! Happy Easter to everyone!

Most of us, including myself, are asking questions about the coronavirus. It is normal to be worried as corona is a real danger for most of us. But we should not let it control our lives. Maybe some of you already know, but still here goes the story
As a test, they put 2 identical sheep (same age, weight, health etc) into 2 identical cages. The living conditions are the same and both sheep are fed with the same food etc.
Her...

Hi Everyone, just wondering how everyone is doing in isolation?
Are you keeping yourselves entertained at home or are you going crazy already?
Since the stay at home order in California I've been out only 3 times and I'm going crazy.. Don't get me wrong, I do go out and walk my dog. I also do things around the house, so I'm not bored at all. I'm just going crazy because I can't see my sisters..
Sure it's not fun always seeing them 🤣 but it...

Hello
I'm excited to be part of this club because I know it can help me. I'm am new to this and do not have much knowledge about pacemakers and defibrillators. I am learning something each day. Any suggestions and pointers will be greatly appreciated. My wife is typing up all this for me and getting me set up to become a member because I am not feeling well today. I woke up and got dizzy when I set up at 5 am this morning to go to restroom. When I got up for the morn...

My medtronic 24952 monitor screen light stays on for days. Does not turn off.I cannot find why this happens. Has this something to do with transmission? Can somebody tell me why the light stays on.
Thank you

This past Saturday I had passed out on my couch. Went to ER and Monday a PM was put in. Cardiologist said my heart rate was too low. They did do an echocardiogram and put me on a heart monitor until Monday. They were going to do an EP test, but Dr. felt based on the information they had I needed a PM. So I went to Surgery Monday. I read where ovens don't hurt your PM, but I was making a dish tonight (regular gas oven) and when I opened the door the heat almost felt like...

Alright, admittidly this will probably be the weirdest question you will see today...
I got a biotronik edora 8 PM implanted in Oct 2019. I know this is an odd question but I just got an underground electric containment fence put in for my dog. Unfortunately, he can fight with other dogs thru the fence and thus has to be in his kennel a lot rather than left outside. The hope is this will keep him off the fence so he can have more time outside.
Anyways, before subjecting my dog to...

Does anyone know if a patient with a pacemaker would be considered a “futile intubation” prospect ? I write from NYC where COVID-19 is ravaging our population and where there are too few ventilators.

My med id bracelet has been on its last legs--kept catching on things. Yesterday it caught me as I was changing my sheets and stuck me fast to my mattress. Thought I was gonna have to amputate, lol! But bracelet is fubar'd - may get a new one. BUT - my question is:
does anyone have their med & emergency info on their phone lock screen? Would that be a good idea? I'm mostly concerned about this in event I have a stroke and...

With all the current gloom and doom re. Covid-19 , it is good to read something positive about future pacemaker development. This was reported in the magazine published by the British Heart Foundation . ( This research may have been mentioned on here before but it still makes good reading ) :-

After an ablation interupted (severed) the electrical system in my heart, I am now totally dependant on my pacemaker/ICD. Have been trying to wrap my head around the fact that I'm being kept alive by a machine.
Curious however.......IF the pacemaker unit were to fail and I would pass out....would performing CPR even do anything? I know the jolt from my ICD wouldn't work given I shared the unit has stopped performing in my scenario.
Meaning, if the heart has to...
