I am one month into have implant and having no problems. Just posting to say hi and thank all for the forum info I have spent the last month or so going over. We have all come here because of history but always nice to have advise and info from others going through similar procedures. These little units sure have come a long way since hockey puck size one speed only units of my father's day. I have an ICD/CRT unit so not pacing per se but constant syncing of my out of sync heart. I w...

I was finally starting to feel a bit more normal but now I'm always nauseous for the last 3 days and I feel like I could throw up at any minute now :(
I'm not on any medications either. Has anyone faced episodes like this where sometime after the surgery you'll have random days in which you feel terrible?
this is my 1st pacemaker. I'm 30 years old and it's for complete heart block

Hi all
I would like to thank everyone for all your help I just have a couple more things I need to know. I am due to have a operation where they damaged the av node and fit a twin wire pacemaker so that the top two chambers of my heart still beat out of time and quiver but the bottom two beat in time with the pacemaker
( can't think of what the op is called at the min ) I was wondering if anybody on here has had this done and does it shorten your life expectancy and...
Does anyone ever have days where you can “feel pacing” more than any other day?

Before I proceed...
First I wanted to thank every single person here. I got my pacemaker about a little over a month and a half ago and I can't even believe how helpful everyone here is. You've all helped me realize that I'm not alone.
For my question...do any of you have sudden days where you feel a more frequent "flutter" type of feeling on the bottom of the throat towards center of chest?
I have 3rd degree heart bl...

Did I miss the Pacer Olympics athlete qualifying? I have perfected my floor routine when I induce a shock storm. It's a thing of beauty, easily gold medal performance.

I was contacted by my cardiologist s nurse that He has seen some missed bests on my heart monitor. He would like me to come in and have an adjustment to the sensitivity rate. Says he thinks that might be the cause of my missed beats and shortness of breath and heart flutters. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks!

Hello everyone, i wanted to give you a quick update on my medication increasing my lexapro from 10mg to 20mg was like a living hell. I think my anxiety increased as did my heart palpitations. I have an appointment with a specialist who manages anxiety medicine and ive been doing cbt which helps you rewire your brain into relieving the tension of fear. I think we all think of our mortality when we hit a certain age, but i think as agent said to me was to just enjoy your life, we only go throug...

If you've been around here long at all, you know that I often push the limits. One thing I've respected is coasters with magnetic brakes. I was at Universal last week and could NOT resist the new Hagrid coaster and I'd already looked up how it was done and knew it had magnetic start/stops. But I rode it anyway. Twice. No problems whatsoever.
This is how it works, if you're curious. (discussion of how the magnets work starts 7 minutes in)

Hello. I'm very new to this forum, as I just had a Micra (trans-cathether, leadless) PM fitted last Friday, after a series of cardiac arrests earlier in the week. For context, I'm a 45 year old male with no previous history of heart issues. So I'm only 3 days in to having a PM.
As it stands, I feel pretty well but am very aware that the Micra is pacing on the hour, every hour, like clockwork, regardless of my activity. I'm told it's set to pace at 80 bpm but only if m...

I've handled my heart travails well over the years through a positive attitude and humor, and haven't given much thought to the fact the smart money is on my heart eventually killing me, assuming my wife doesn't do the job first. One thing I haven't been able to come to terms with is after doctors continuously telling me I'm on borrowed time, why are all those around me seemingly in good health dying while I continue to plug along. Just a week ago my primary care doctor to...

I had my pacemaker placement this past Tuesday. I am wondering if anyone can share if they felt very very tired several days after the surgery and also I feel weak and kind of unstable when walking. I don't know if this is a normal reaction or not but I thought a pacemaker was going to give me more energy. I'm reading on this site that there are various settings of the pacemaker. Perhaps this has something to do with these symptoms?

Hello everyone. I am a 48 year old male with a diagnosis of Sick sinus syndrome. I have not yet had a PM implanted but it seems that it might be my best permanent option to get a better quality of life: general tireness, extra systoles at times, and some light headaches. I have never had any syncopes and no AV block or AF. I still work out several times a week so not suffering from chronic incompetence. But heart rate is in the low end below 50 due to being low at night in particu...

Had a pacemaker implant oct of 2020. After many adjustments I started to feel better after heart rate was increased. Lately having flutters and my drs nurse is having me come in for a check as my heart rate has increased to 95. My pacemaker is set at 70. Wondering if I should be concerned? Also why this might happen? Any information will be appreciated.

I had my PM inserted on 6/4/2021 and everything is going well, check ups are good and everything
working as normal. My question is we are about to embark on our first vacation post PM.
I was wondering if those who have a remote monitoring base (boston scientific) take it with them
on vacation or leave it at home?. My EP knows of my travelig but didn't indicate whether I should
take the device with me. Asking those who have traveled post PM. Thanks
was wondering the need to keep checking one's heart rate

Have been reading many of the posts, where it is often mentioned what type of measuring device should be testing one's heart rate. Am wondering what the need is for this? and Why?

I have a Pacemaker Model W3dr01/5076-52 Implanted Nov 2020
I have heard that heart monitor wrist watches can interfere with a Pacemaker.
Can anyone advise me if this is so. My thanks in anticipation of your answer Regards Bazz

Hello, I've been doing great, except, over the past week I've noticed that whenever I ride my bike, my heart rate rarely goes over 140 bpm even when I'm pushing hard & I fatigue much quicker(normal would be 160 - 180, I am 26, and have been riding for years). I am on metoprolol 12.5mg once a day, I usually take it at night & with that dose, I still could reach the normal heart rates. I have a pacemaker/icd which is well looked after. Should I be concerned?...

3rd day since switching Cymbalta to bedtime instead of morning. It was hard to judge any difference over the weekend--I'm always lazy on the weekend, and maybe too soon to tell anyway. Today I found it VERY hard to wake up in the morning, but once I was functioning it was all go. I walked the dog, potted some houseplants, shopped & cooked dinner. I'm ready to relax now, but not as in fall into bed & sleep. I appreciate the suggestions that I got to my earlier post. It is a nic...

Good morning: I have a quick question, I took nearly a direct blow to the area where my PM is implanted from an overzealous grandson just yesterday. It caused discomfort for a while after and not sure if it feels off or a bit uncomfortable today or if I am just hyper aware of the PM and area.
Any experiences with this type of thing??
