Hello. I am 48 years old and had to have a PM in December last year. I have started noticing my breast appears to be larger and is tender. I thought I would ask if anyone else has that problem? I know it is also a sign of breast cancer, but before I jump to conclusions and freak myself out, I thought I would start with the group to see if anyone has had this issue. I do sleep on the left side and am just now getting use to the PM. Any help would be apprecia...

Hi,
I just had an upgrade pacemaker and ventricle lead put in early for heart block before my pacemakers battery was ready to be replaced.
I went into the hospital thinking I had COVID, and they found heart enzymes in my blood and when I was sleeping my heartrate would fall down into the 20's.
They quickly put in a new 2 lead pacemaker, and now I can breath so much breath better, and now I don't pass out. But it's been 2...

I have had shoulder and arm pain since my surgery 3 weeks ago. Just had appointment with ep to check pm and remove bandage. Had no explanations for pain. Possible frozen shoulder (from day1) . Doubt it. Had to wrestle me? Has no idea. Any suggestions would be helpful as I head in for valve replacement 8/13. Thanks

Afraid I may have done some damage to the area around the pace maker hope I did not pull it out of its pocket. This happened a few weeks ago and I am sill having pain. Guess I will call Kaiser.

I had a Medtronic 2 lead Pacemaker installed on 07/16/2020. The first few nights of sleep eluded me. I was to afraid to sleep. I am now able to get 5-6 hours of sleep. I've been getting lightheaded quite often. Is this normal. I also have Asthma. I've noticed after using my Nebulizer with Albuterol I seem to be getting a fluttering feeling in my chest. Is the Pacemaker trying to compensate for the temporary increase in the heart rate caused by the Med. Any help will be...

I have had a pacemaker for since 2015. It served me well for several years. In the last 2 years, I have had increased shortness of breath. This summer I was to the point of hardly functioning with super fatigue and weakened muscles and dizzyness and lack of balance. I also have mild muscular dystrophy. (I was not officially diagnosed until I was 67). I thought the muscular dystrophy was developing quickly and severely. I went in for a scheduled check of my pacemaker and had a different n...

Hello,
Has anyone ever had an infection after the implanted that was cured with antibiotics and didn't require surgery?
My incision appears to be healing well three weeks after surgery, however a few days ago I began experiencing pain in my glands in my neck and armpit on the same side as the ICD. I called my Primary Care Dr. and she prescribed antibiotics. She said if the pain isn't better in two days call my cardiologist. I felt relief the first day. On d...

I'm not posting this to concern anyone because I' sure it's rare, My defibrillator shocked me 8 times a little over a week ago duueto a malfunction. I'm having a very hard time calming down over this as it was very traumatic sitting there knowing it was going to happen again and again. It has since been shut off so I was told but my anxiety is still very high and the doctor has put me on medication to calm me but I still cry a lot. Any advice or anyone who has been throug...

In January I was fitted with a dual lead pacemaker as I had a very slow heartbeat. All was well until May when I collapsed. In hospital they discovered that the left side of my heart was out of synchronisation with the right side. I was then fitted with a 3 lead pacemaker( CRT)This happens in 1 in 100 cases. I wonder if anyone else has had this experience?

I had been on Corlanor after a cardiac arrest/shocks from my ICD in Dec 2019. I had complained about vision problems after starting the med, but my EP didn't say much about it and I didn't make a big deal of it, as it was listed as a side effect and I figured it was more important to take the med for my heart. He called me recently and told me to stop the drug immediately. If you are having vision problems on Corlanor, or if you are taking Corlanor, please speak to y...

Hi there
I just wondered your views and experiences on using antibiotics before surgery or dental procedure as a precaution to prevent bacterial infections with PMs to reduce risk of infective endocarditis?
With my PM op they used antibiotics, with my loop recorder insertion they didn't. I've been told by a dentist that it's not normally recommended for teeth extractions, root canal, filing teeth to create space (part of orthodontic treatment) etc, but...

My daughter pointed me to this site after doing a little research to help me with a problem that i have been having since the installation of a pacemaker. After wearing a heart monitor my Dr. contacted me and indicated that I needed a pacemaker. I had regulalrly missed heart beats and he said that the results were definite and without the pacemaker I was at risk of passing out. I had the pacemaker installed about two weeks ago, and everything seemed to be ok. After o...

Hi All had mine fitted 9 weeks ago during worst of Covid. Was done within a week of being told I needed it without any prior discussion. Worst experience of my life as surgery was both brutal and barbaric. Went home same day only to be on way back in two hours with chest pain and difficulty breathing. Back to theatre as vent lead had moved and punctured wall of heart. Pain was worse than b4 (sedation didn't work either ) pain was worse than day before as I wa...
