I read archived posts about bouncy roads vibration triggers an episode which is what I experience. Every time, I get into my small car and drive through certain roads that are bouncy, my heart rate would be out of sync at first, then gradually turned into an episode. Is it the rate response feature that is causing this? Do I need to have the rate response turned on? Can I just have it turned off if I have what they call Sinoatrial Node Dysfunction? I had my PM back in March this year. It ha...

I received my PM in Jan 2013 and within a week felt wonderful. Like new again. This week I can sense my heart out of rhythm. I feel much better than I used to when that happened and can still work around the house. But I wondered if this is common? Can your heart still revert back to the AFib even if only for a little while. I guess I thought with a PM it never happened again. Thanks to anyone who has an answer.

Hi, I'm new and confused. Everyone is telling me I will feel so much better now that I have my PM. I was having a lot of faint, dizzy spells, passed out once at home, no energy, fatigue, etc. I went for a tilt table test and my heart flat lined and they had to pace my heart or whatever you call it to start back up. I was told I had to have a PM. Three weeks ago I had a dual chamber pacemaker put in. The DR said the settings is set to kick in when my heartbeat falls below 40. So I take it...

I am 4 weeks post having a biventricular Pacemaker, CRT-P.
I still get very tired, my pacemaker is set at 60-130, are they likely to change it, I have an appointment at the pacing clinic in 3 weeks, are they likely to change this setting? or leave it. I have found I cannot walk as far as I could before I was fitted with the pm. I suffer with Paroxamol Af and I had started to pass out when in Af.
Regards,
Beth

Hi!
I was wondering, if anyone of you has a Biotronik pacemaker with closed-loop stimulation (CLS), a special rate response mode, switched on. How do you get along with that - in daily life or when exercising?
I'm in the process of deciding whether to go for a pacemaker with a better rate response, and one of the EPs in my professor's team said that CLS might work for me. However, my cardio, who also implants pacemakers, said he implanted Biotronik pacers with CLS in severa...

Hello everybody. I am new to this site, and have read many interesting posts...I had a Syncra three-lead pacemaker implanted Aug 6, 2012, which was set at 50 and 130. I have had three instances when I felt quite strange while taking my morning walk (I used to walk for at least an hour, but am having trouble getting back to that, due to other issues such as Achilles strain and cervical stenosis pain). However, part of the reason is because of these incidents happening; every time I increase m...

Had AV node ablated and PM fitted over a year and a half ago.
I am 100% paced. I have intermittent A Fib. The A Fib had decreased after the PM was implanted. Now its every other day and lasting all day into the next, which leaves me tired, dizzy and short of breath. Have been to my cardiologist 2 times in the past month. I saw the device lady and she tweaked some kind of setting, she said the PM was reacting to the A fib and increasing my heart rate so she readjusted that setting. Di...

Hi there!
I have a quick question for those of you who have their rate response turned on AND have their pacemaker placed subpectorally (under the muscle): Have you ever been told that this placement could somehow affect the rate response sensor?
I have been dealing with rate response issues for quite a while to the point where even the manufacturer doesn't know what to do. Basically, it doesn't differentiate for instance between walking and jogging. It responds very aggre...

Hello all. Excuse my ignorance Jax - but what is TMJ ??
I am pleased to report that the stiff neck and headaches are much improved. I sould abit like a "cry baby" but now I have another question!?!
On my recent visit (a month ago) to my heart specalist he turned the sleep setting ON to see if this would improve my bad sleeping at night. It is set to drop to 60 bpm at 10 pm and change back to 75 bpm at 5.30 am. Now I seem to feel tired all the time! Grrrrrrrrrrr . . . has anyone else ha...

Well I went for my two month interrogation yesterday. The Medtronic tech told me to start a daily walking regiment to see if it would help my physical and mental state. I have given myself plenty of easy time to heal, now the real battle of having a pacemaker begins, trying to get in shape. Now also my INR is always in therapy level, but warfarin is causing me to urinate blood. I can stop warfarin for 24 hrs and it goes away, but returns upon starting mess again...?

FYI...I had the pleasure today of being shocked by my CRT-D (Medtronic), 16 times within 20 minutes. Ended up in the emergency room, and when the Medtronic technician showed up she said, "Your heart is fine, there appears to have been a malfunction with the settings on the device". Folks, make sure your physicians sets the appropriate threshold (window) on your device, otherwise it's going to feel like you went 16 rounds with a gorilla. Feeling a little sore, Ill be seeing my physician tomorr...

Two weeks today since i've had my crt-p implanted. Surgery went well, released from hospital the following morning. Minor pain & discomfort afterwards, took some tylenols for the next couple days to lessen the pain even more. Was impressed with how well concealed the pm was under my skin although that was short lived, as the swelling is now going down the pm is becoming more visible, not a problem though. Been babying my left side, i can't help being paranoid about dislodging the leads. The firs...
