Another HRM question

good evening everyone. I have searched previous posting but can't find an answer to this question and wondered if you could advise. I would like to buy a HRM which is just a wrist strap and not a chest strap. Budget is around £100 and needs to be compatable with a Dual Chamber PM. Any suggestions?

puzzled

Hi,
A few of you will have noticed I`ve been trying to cure my resting `funny feelings`. Needles to say I`m very happy with my exercise program and now after 12months of trying different settings I feel pretty fit .
One thing has come to light after the consultant suggested dropping me HR from 70 to 60 .
Basically when flat out my HR is about 135 (I take 1.25mg of beta blocker which I`m told has an effect of lowing my HR by about 10) so no problem there.
Previously at 70 fo...

I have done CrossFit for 3 years and feel like it and everything I have worked for (my strength)has been taking away from me. basketball

I am a 54 year old male who, on 12/16/14, got a Metronic pacemaker implanted at the Cleveland Clinic. Today, I go for my first interrogation. I have ordered a shirt that has a protective device that is supposed to protect my pacemaker. The docs at the CC have told me after 6 weeks, no problem with playing basketball. I have been biking and next week, I start swimming again and then I move to basketball. Any help/comments would be welcome. Thank you.

Pacemaker settings.

Hi everyone I am new to this club, but I am glad I found it. I am 51 years old and very active with running, martial arts and weight training. 20 years ago I had a right coronary arterial wall tear which caused me to have a heart attack. this left me with a left bundle branch block. Even with this I continued to compete in elite level sports, However recently I have developed a heart block that seems to occur when I get to 85-90% of my max HR so my cardiologist suggested a pacemaker. I am getti...

Magnetic resistance excercise machines

I am thinking of getting a recumbent excercise bike with magnetic resistance. Should I be concerned with it affecting my pacemaker? I tested it using a compass and there was no needle deflection at all.

Bodybuilding and weightlifting after implant

Hello Everyone,

First of all I'm glad I found this site. Many people here give honest and positive information. In particular I have enjoyed reading responses from TracyE and the knotguy. I'm sure there are other great people here too, I'm just getting started. I just had a single lead pacemaker implanted 1-20-15. I am 37 years old and I felt great until 6 weeks ago when I fainted. I have always had a low heartrate, but after many tests my EP recommended I get a pacemaker. The...

Track & Field Long Jumping

I am a mother of a 15 year old girl who was just diagnosed with Third Degree Heart Block in May and had her pacemaker implanted on July 2. They had to go back the next day because one of the leads had dislodged. Anyway she is a Track & Field sprinter at her High School and is happy to be back running again. This past week however the coaches have asked her to also compete in Long Jumping because she was in the top 3 girls at her school on her distance jump. My question and concern is if this is...

Mudderella

Hi guys

It has been awhile since my last post. I have myself booked to do Mudderella in July. It is a 6 mile obstacle course. Has anyone here ever attempeted one of these? How did it go? My concern is mostly doing the pulling with ropes over walls. And the army crawl under barb wire. I think it should be ok but just wondered if anyone else has tried.

Thanks
Laura

Drugs

Hi all ,
I was just wondering while the PM techs are trying to fine tune my setting am I chasing something that is drug related and not really a PM problem. Could my odd feelings be brought on by medication as I`m sure we are all on some sort of drug because of the PM or heart related problems ?
I`m particularly interested in peoples reaction to Furosemide?
I`ve been active in sports all my life(now 67) and wonder why I`m prescribed this duretic when now fairly healthy and active...

Special attention?

Hello all :-)
So I do ballet, and I'm in a semi-vocational school. I do at least I dance class a day, and I'm wondering if, in exams, I should have a special note or something saying I have a PM. My friends sometimes get worried cause my stamina isn't like theirs, but I don't know if I like the idea of having special consideration notes on my exams... Any thoughts??
Just a bit worried...

Do any of you runners out there....

Ever get injuries? I'm specifically referring to Ian MC, Tat Man and Tracey E - you don't ever post anything to say that you can't run due to bad knees, achilles problems etc. I have been suffering with a calf problem for months now - I keep resting it but then start slowly increasing my distance but then it goes again and I am back to square one! If you remember I had the pacemaker to enable be to run - but now I need a new calf!! So frustrating.

Talking of pacemakers, I went fo...

Worse After PM Than Before

I am writing this on behalf of my fiancé. He had a demand CRT-D device implanted on August 4, 2014. 50 years old, 3 time Ironman triathlete, 154 marathons completed. Diagnosed with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy in 2011.

He felt terrific the first 3 weeks after the device was implanted and then slowly started to detoriate. Shortness of breath, difficulty exercising on some days, and now a fluid build up (essentially congestive heart failure) that was not present prior to the device's im...

Playing Sports with a pacemaker

Hello, I am a mom of a seven year old with a pacemaker. He had his pacemaker put in when he was a year and a half. We were told that since he is getting older and the sports he plays will be getting somewhat more rough he should stick to golf and tennis. This is pretty upsetting to my guy. We are definitely following the Dr.' s orders. But I was just curious of any other experiences anyone has had. Thank you so much
